I had Mr. Lane several years ago and he was an amazing professor. His knowledge of his class and his teaching ability are exceptional. He gets to know his students one by one and offers all kinds of advice on his classes. I found a "book" recently titled Prehistoric Hunters and Gatherers: I had no idea he co-authored it. GREAT WORK!

Prof. Leon remains one of my all-time favorite teachers. He's blunt, but he's also intelligent, caring, and laugh-out-loud funny. I took three classes with him, and I enjoyed every single one of them. I couldn't wait to go to class. I learned about lifenot just anthropology. Respect him, your peers, and class time, and he'll be your best friend.

I think he's a great teacher-his lectures are hilarious, and he answers even the smallest questions without making you feel like a complete putz. Offers extra credit work (I highly recommend you do it) and is good about communicating with you outside the classroom. You need to be in class to take notes.

At first I was totally against this class, but as I got into routine it wasn't bad at all. Yes, you have to read a lot, but nothing a dedicated student can't handle. Everything was due on Thursdays and the schedule was like a pattern. You knew what to do every week and I loved that!

Leon can be offensive and very unprofessional during lectures. He told me I was an idiot student because I used a citation maker online rather than constructing the citation myself. The research assignment is not hard, but he grades it hard. I thought I'd met all of the requirements of the assignment and I still only got an 84 on it. Tests are hard

Great teacher! Presents lecture material from memory and very clearly. So long as you pay attention in class and make sure to read the book, you'll pass easily, as his tests are easy and take material straight from the book and his lectures. The hardest thing you'll have to do is the assignment, and even that's not too bad.

Avoid at all costs, takes his job teaching at a community college way to seriously. Would be better suited teaching this course at a major university. The class information is kind of easy to grasp, but the assignments are incredibly hard and redundant.

A teacher who is not scared to tell you what he thinks no matter what the subject my be. I have to say the one thing that impressed me the most is that he hasn't let his higher education make him less of a human. Yes, I said it "I'm Impressed!".

Really knows his stuff, but really throws off on Kentucky and its people like his native West Virginia is any better. The best thing to ever come out of WV was I-75. He speaks whatever is on his mind, so if you don't like to hear a professor curse don't take his classes. He does make class interesting, but the Proposal paper is a little rough.

The guy knows his stuff, I'll give him that. But he can be pretty condescending at times. I'm surprised nobody else has mentioned this. I don't really think he's a bad teacher. It's just that his intense, says-whatever-he-feels approach towards teaching gets old real fast. It almost seems contrived. Just my two cents.

Bar far my favorite teacher. Lane knows his stuff and has a great way of presenting the information. The proposal is a hard paper to write but will help you out further down the road. I never missed either of his classes because he was very thought provoking. Sign up for any of his classes even if you don't need to.
