Stay on top of the homework. Will chastise you in front of the class. Ask for help, if you need it. The others are not kidding about the daily verbal exams and weekly written assignments. If you're not serious about French or didn't take it in high school, skip it.

Professor Knight is top in his field and knows what he's talking about. Class is fairly difficult but 1st/2nd year students don't have much choice. You'd better be on top of things and willing to ASK FOR HELP when needed, or you'll be left in the dust quickly. At least one written test a week!
