One of the kindest gentlemen you will ever have the pleasure of learning from. Extra Bonus: dry wit! If you are lucky enough to have him as a mentor as well as a teacher, then pay it foward when your turn comes. He is an exemplar of humanity in the classroom.

I was a student of Dr. Ambrose in the late '70s and early '80s. He's responsible for me getting my M.A. in Soc. I'm delighted to see he's still inspiring his students 30 years later. Ken, you still rock.

Dr. Ambrose is one of the most wonderful human beings I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.I have taken him for numerous classes, he is one of the main reasons I decided to make sociology my major. Marshall is lucky to have him. He is by far the best professor here, and will surely be missed when he retires.Deserves and has all of my respect.

Dr. Ambrose is by far the best professor at Marshall University. I have had him for 4 different classes, and he cares more about students than any other professor on this campus. He is absolutely hiliarious with his dry sense of humor. He brings an awesome variety of snacks. His tests aren't easy, but with some study anyone can make a good grade.

Ken Ambrose is a delight. One of the nicest people you will meet at MU--get to know him out of class. Classes are easy; Powerpoint based, and he posts these online. Some test questions are a little out of left field, if you have a decent basic knowledge of sociology it is not an issue. Grades on a very generous curve. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Ambrose is a very good teacher and his classes are interesting. He's very understanding and willing to help when he can. His class is the reason I decided to become a sociology minor! I suggest taking his class if possible.

This man is awesome! He is funny and interesting! He didn't make it to class much this past sesmter but when he was there, it was great. He nice and doesn't give homework (aside from the reading of course). He is all in all a great professor and I really recommend you taking him!

I like him. He's pretty funny sometimes. His lectures are hard to follow, but if you read the book, and take a glance at your study guide once in a while, you can follow right along with him. He lectures straight from the study guide, although he does skip some parts. I would guess people who havent figured that out wouldnt like him, but I do.

I don't know what class the other reviewers were taking but Ambrose is the best. The tests come from the book and his power point. Too bad the course is not "exciting" enough for them. AND he brings food to class. . . what is not to like? I will certainly take another one of his courses.

The guy teaches social organization but I think he needs a class on organization. The power point slides are terrible and he just reads from them. The questions on his test are from Mars where I think he may be from. The guy kind of looks like Leslie Neilson from Naked Gun, maybe he could have taught a better class. (DonĂ¢€™t Call Me Surely)

Dear old man, but a very inept teacher who should consider retirement. Doesn't require you to but a book. Three unpredictable - 75 question exams of which about half have never been discussed in class. Grades on a very generous curve. It's an easy class, but it's all on Power point and extremely boring.

Yes, His tests are multiple choice but are very long and the questions are off the wall. Who knows what he is going to ask on the test! It is the only class I am struggling in. I will be glad to get a C in this class. Totally did not think this class would be this way after reading everyone elses thoughts. Avoid it.

Medical Sociology isn't all that bad. I have to admit the powerpoints are boring and Dr. Ambrose agrees with this so he gives you food and coffee to stay awake...Ambrose definitely gets an A for his personality in my book. Take him, he's one of the best. Just read and you'll do fine.

This guy, don't know what hes talking about half the time. He lectures from boring ass power point slides and rambles on about nothing. He tries to compensate the bordum through snacks. Who know's what to study for because there is no book. The class is a real snoozer, if you want to be fat and bored I recommend you take this course.
