If you're taking SC 101, I'd recommend someone else. Great professor with a lot of enthusiasm. Really didn't learn much in his class. His lectures were long and he went on tangents frequently. Take someone else.

He's one of the most intelligent men you'll ever meet, so be prepared to pay attention and ask questions in his class. Although he can get off topic, even if it refers to something in class, be prepared, Not for those with ADD

He means well and cares about his students. He will start talking about poverty and wind up telling you about his life back in Indiana, which is interesting, but not relevant. Attendance is important because 95% of the tests are based on his notes.

Real nice guy and all but damn, the best words that describe that class is "mass confusion", not to mention its intolerably boring.

he is a nice guy, sometimes the class drags or gets a little off track course material, tests and quizzes were difficult but he really wants everyone to do well and will curve grades to help people out, hard class but i doubt anyone would fail

there is no escaping esslinger! he is the only person that teaches social problems. the class is long and boring...occasionally it picks up momentum when he starts yelling in german or he starts talking like a southern hick...the quizzes & tests are impossible but more likely than not, you will get a B

pretty nice guy but he rambles on about absolutely nothing. although, he is quite entertaining when he tries to taqlk to the birds in class or pulls out his pocket knife to show u his skin sample. his tests are way out in left field, just stick to the book and u should be fine. BTW has anyone seen his office lately? it looks like aa tornado hit it

Ridiculously worded tests about ridiculous articles that have no importance .. questions from book are easy, just hope he happens to ramble in class about something on the test, and if he does hope your awake or paying enough attention to remember it or right it down .. nice dude i guess though

Just started the course a couple weeks ago. We've supposed to have read like four chapters and not a word in class is related to any four of them. He's just a ramblin old geezer who should let you bring a pillow to class.. but he is really nice.

Likes to talk and talk, rarely about course material. Gives tests based on schedule, not on what has been covered in class. Does curve the tests though, making the grading pretty fair.

Ramble, ramble, ramble. And only occassionally is he rambling about something pertinent to the course. By the time that rolls around, you're not likely to figure out what to write down. At least some of the stories he tells are interesting.

I dread going to this class because I know I am going to have to sit through an hour of his rambling. It's not often that he says something that pertains to the subject he's teaching. This guy is too smart for his own good. Tests are pretty hard.
