Professor Dalton is super cool. He has great insights and helps you come up with better thoughts than you would think of by yourself. There is a lot of reading and long essays to write so be prepared to work. He grades tough but fair, and actually grades you based on your previous essay(s). Go to his office hours for essays!! He was a lot of fun.

It was a privilege to take Dr. Dalton's class. A master at guiding discussions and encouraging critical thinking. A very funny and interesting guy. A bit unorganized at times but definitely makes up for it with his magnetic personality.

Dalton was a great Human Event Prof. Although I hated the material, he always managed to make it bearable when discussing it. He encouraged thoughtful discussions and graded fairly. I would highly recommend taking him.

Lets be honest: being in Barrett is not easy. The honors courses? Not easy. Dalton, like every other professor, is not an easy grader. His pop quizzes are murderous if you haven't read. What he has over the other professors is his ability to inspire critical thoughts and his keen sense of humor. I highly recommend him, but be prepared to work.

Dr. Dalton is one of the best human event professors Barett has to offer. The advantage of taking this professor over the others is he posts the essay prompts of the whole semster on his syllabus that he hands out at the beginning of the year while the other professors release the prompts a week before they are due.

This class is insanely hard, but Dalton is super cool and funny and very helpful. Make sure to do the reading and reading responses. There are quizzes and you have to turn in your reading responses. Papers are super hard, I worked very hard this semester and only got a B+.

Make sure to actually do the reading because of pop quizzes (there are around 5-7) and so you can participate which he really weighs in to your end grade. He is super funny, but is a really tough grader on papers.

Go in for office hours. He appreciates that and rewards you on your papers! I found that talking in class twice was usually enough to be considered good participation. When you present in groups make sure you are the first one to talk so that you can get an easy word in otherwise someone else will and you'll have to come up with something clever

Dr. Dalton is great. He's a brilliant and amazingly cultured man, and he's pretty funny too. You have to do the readings to do well on the quizzes, and the essays definitely require a lot of effort. Still, the workload isn't unreasonable and he is always willing to help. It's not an easy class but it's a great one.

Interesting class. Lots of laughs. Buy/rent all reading before semester starts! Discussing religion, it does get a bit tense. Try to be neutral. Lets you put your on view on essay and very helpful. Good teacher.

Very brilliant man, but never makes anyone feel as if their opinions are stupid. He does tend to go off on tangents, but he is entertaining. For the essays, he wants to hear your unique viewpoint as long as you can defend it. He will provide guidance and an abundance of resources, but he won't provide closure or tell you what you "should" write.

Simply put, you want to take Dalton's class. His readings are very diverse, his quizzes can be tough and random, but it's just to ensure you read. Essays are set up well and his draft method is very effective, and his comments are very helpful, but he's won't pull his punches. Talks a lot, but he manages to fully express both sides without bias.

Dalton is seriously the BEST! I loved his class. I had Foy for HumEv 1st semester, due to schedule i had to switch teachers. The switch to Dalton was the best mistake that ever happened to me! He's hilarious and easy going, he lets you talk about whatever you want and you get a good participation if you just talk. TAKE HIM!! hard quizzes tho.

Didn't learn anything new at all from his class. We rarely actually discussed what we read and his feedback was unhelpful. Either he likes what you write or he doesn't. I do like his participation system though: if you don't talk enough in class, you can make it up by writing reading responses. He's okay overall, nothing special :|

His quizzes are rough, so read thoroughly. He posts the essay prompts, so pick one before reading and get your notes and quotes selected early to save time. He's incredibly smart, but there's no such thing as an easy human event class, so be prepared to work. However, I'm very glad I picked Dalton, and overall if you actually read you will do fine.

Just read and take notes. He hardly will discuss what you read though. He spends a lot of time talking and isn't happy when you disagree. Grades hard until you understand how to write for him. But isn't helpful in or outside the classroom. At all.

Dalton would be an awesome history professor, but he's not so awesome at letting students have a discussion. I get the impression that he likes to hear himself talk. Prepare to hear him talk about sex A LOT. His grading is very vague and biased.

Eccentric, interesting&hot.Helpful in office hours.Quizzes are on random stuff so they can be difficult but not if you read the material. One of the easier essay graders if you agree with prof's ideas. I Did badly on quizzes(didn't read)participated mildly, averaged As on papers. Got B+ in class.Pretty nice since I def didn't get a B+ based on points

He is very helpful outside of class when it comes to writing essays. If your ask him a question through email he will write you back a long thorough response. During class his explanations of the book are completely off topic to the essays and totally random. Class is mandatory simply because the quizzes are random and worth too many points to miss

I'm pretty sure that France Dalton and Tempe Dalton are two different people. The first is almost poetically self-absorbed, far less interested in acting like an adult and teaching than having a good time. The second is a mild-mannered Human Event professor. Somewhere in the middle of this paradox is the mystery that is Kevin Dalton.
