guy's a little crazy, but he's gone to another community college to teach somewhere on the coast. he had a myspace, and i tried to friend him, so he made it private. he wasn't always clear on assignments, in the sense that there was gray area that he never went over, and he is somewhat condescending. he's an alright person, but he's a weird teacher

I actually enjoyed Professor Vanarsdall's class. He does seem to be a bit bias towards students. Fortunately, I was on his good side. He will like you as you as you speak out in class. He makes you write a ton but it is all helpful writing. Also,don't plagiarize. He always looks for it.He makes English interesting and I reccommend taking his class.

He is *very* detailed in what he wants, I'll give him that. I only saw him outside of class during the mandatory conference, and it wasn't all that helpful, at least for me. I would recommend trying to get someone else, but don't worry too much if you have him. I didn't think he was all that rude, just tells it like it is.

He is rude!!! He doesn't care about student's opinions, hes always asking does anybody have any questions? but when you do ask a question he makes you feel like an idiot. He puts everybody down and doesn't take crap from anybody. I got an A in his class, I worked hard to earn it, but he is not a good professor. Avoid him if you can.

I had him awhile back and I have to say out of all my professors, he is one of the most memorable.  He definitely ran his college level class at the COLLEGE level.  You actually feel like you accomplish something after taking his class. Not recommended for all of the "Spicoli's" out there, but anyone else looking to improve their writing, take him!

VanArsdall means well but comes across as a jerk. His class is a lot of work and attendance is mandatory and you HAVE to read the book bc he WILL quiz you! He is not helpfull at all- during my review with him of our last paper he told me that I was a journalism major and to figure it out myself and was on his computer the whole time.

Great professor Had him for English II. Very clear on what Core essays whould be and what he expects, he give out of the blue quizes, but read before you come to class. Very likeable professor and hates lazy students so if you are lazy he is not for you.

Kevin is a little bit crazy. He's awfully easy on grading your papers, I got A's on all 4. If you do your work and don't slack off, he'll like you but if you just show up to class and put no effort forth, he won't like you. You'll know the difference. I thought he was an okay professor. I learned a lot from all the handouts he gives. He's helpful.

This professor should NOT BE TEACHING!!! Kevin is very RUDE and unhelpful. He treats his students like they are beneath him and not with respect. Has something smart to say and your never right, he alway say that he wants your writing to improve, but does not help you all he does is criticize. one thing i learned was to NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!!

Talk about busy work, he gives so much bull crap reading and quizzes. Kevin is the biggest jerk, and the most unfair grader ever. he gives grades based on the moode he is in, which is always a crappy one. Plus dont even think about missing class, after 3 he starts deducting points, and every two tardys is an absence. my advise: STAY FAR AWAY!!

Moodiest guy I've ever met. Inconsistent grading. Presents extremely liberal material in every class. Doesn't like opinions differing from his own. Consistently talks about having grammer based discussions with nonexistant girlfriend. Smells funny, don't sit in front of class! Gives extra credit, but not much. Expect B if you don't ass kiss.
