I took Intercultural Communications with Kipp in 2006! I'm cleaning out my things, came across my old notes, and realized how great this class was. I learned a lot and I apply what I've learned to this day. I went to Chaffey for 1 semester back then & this class is one that definitely stands out. I'm very appreciative of what I've learned.

Comment:

Kipp was a pleasure to learn from and used personal instances to relate with his class. He does demand the effort any good college professor would, and grades as such. Not the easiest class but if your an astute student, then you'll enjoy his course.

He is ok. I learned a few things from his class but I felt like sometimes it was drag. The final performance which is a group collab was very stressful. If your'e not a fan of group projects DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. Make sure to always attend class on time. He also grades performances very hard. Hardly used the text.

Professor Kipp Preble is a great professor! He cares so much about his students and wants them to succeed. He's the best professor I've ever had. He likes to talk a lot but only to teach us certain things. You have to work hard in this class and it's very worth it :)

He's a very kind person and very well educated. However, we were behind the entire semester, so much so that we needed to eliminate 3 speeches. Take home midterm and final, which was pretty nice. Must attend every class or else he gets pissed, and he's a very strict grader. I worked hard and got a B+. So, it's definitely possible, just difficult.

Kipp is truly one of a kind. It saddened my heart when the semester was over. High standards but very clear and concise to reach his expectations (initiative is key for success). Hysterical and talks about current events that younger students don't appreciate. You CAN get away without doing the readings but not recommended to do well on his exams.

Just simple. If you want to learn how to be a great public speaker, Kipp is wonderful professor to take. Don't talk in class. Attend all class meetings. Prepare for your speech ahead of time. You'll surely break the bridge of " Kipp is a hard nut to crack"

He is a good/ok teacher. He is very clear. On your first speech he doesn't grade the outline think of it as practice. He tends to stray from the syllabus, we were always behind. He is a very real/straight up teacher. He gets crazy(mad) when people talk. Take his advise on speech preparation!! Make sure you read although you can get away w/o reading

Pivotal professor. He made us work hard (which is a good thing). Instrumental in helping bridge meaning. My belief is that many of the ratings come from those who do not work hard and want him to help roll out an easy diploma. Life typically does not meet those expectations. I'm grateful I had him as a professor. He's a class act.

Mr. Preble is an okay teacher. Can be funny, and you can actually learn a thing or two from him (not related to the class) goes off subject, a lot. If you hate speaking in public,good luck with this class. I personally think he grades too hard. I hated this class but its tolerable.He's as OKAY teacher.

kipp is entertainging. does get off subjects at times but thats what makes the guy so great of a teacher. funny. he doesnt tend to play favorites it just who ever is involve w/class he interacts more. so far we have done 2 speeches& mid term. we are behind schedule& by looks of it, there will be one more speech left for sem, which is a piece of cak

He enjoyed "calling me out" in the middle of my speech becaused he didn't agree with my historical data on Vikings, apparently those historians didn't know as much as Kipp Preble. I suggest you take someone who is more open-minded and willing to talk less and teach more (he tends to pontificate too much on irrelevant presonal beliefs).

Though I did rather well in his class, I will never take another class from him again.He does not want to hear anyones opinion unless it's from someone who thinks the same way he does.In order to do well in class, agree with everything he says, and in your papers, make yourself sound media obsessed even if you're not. Act like you want to change.
