Kitty is such a wonderful lady. THT 351 is very fun. We learn about costume history, draw costumes, read a little, mainly hands on always looking at costume renderings or drawing some. This is great for illustration or costume design majors. Even just a fun extra class. Not much homework, the final is divided into three parts, it's nice.

Comment:

Very passionate professor who is very knowledgable. However, she rarely gives tests (only midterm and final) so if you bomb those it counts a lot towards your overall grade. Also does not plan ahead and sometimes isn't true to her word as to what's going to be on exams. Work hard and you'll do fine.

Kitty is AMAZING! She's a little scatterbrained, but this was the first time she was teaching theatre design as a class. For her first time, it was really remarkable! There is a lot of projects assigned but not unmanageable. <3 YOU Kitty! (Also not I'm not a theatre major... yet.)

Kitty is a great lady, she's very understanding as well. However, she takes this class serious and expects you to do the same. This is NOT an easy A either. You have to put effort into this class. It also helps if you're a theater kid, I'm not. Nevertheless she's reasonable, I MIGHT take another class with her, no promises.

She is a hard, strict, and fantastic teacher. She does I think expect a too much from students at times, there is homework outside theater work and I don't think she gets that. However she was extremely kind to me and one of the best teachers I ever had. I'll take classes with her again.

Her makeup class is difficult to get the hang of but fun! She expects you to take the class seriously, but if you do you can learn a lot. It can be difficult to ask her for help, as she can be *very* intimidating (a common phrase, I've found, is - 'Kitty's gonna kill you...'), but get past it and you'll enjoy the class.

The class is great, and the teacher is actually kind of fun when you get past her strictness. do your lab hours and try your best. (note: plan for 42 lab hours and do them early - it's 25% of your grade and doing less than 42 will Severly lower your grade). it's a lot of work, but it's worth it.

Kitty's a toughie - and I liked her alot when I was there. She ran a tight ship and expected lots from the students - a damn good advocate for her students too. Beautiful work from the costume shop too!
