In Regards to the previous entry, Dr. Marshall was a great person. I had her for Adv. Pub Spkg. She made the class fun. I remember after dinner speeches. This class has come in handy for various things in my pr job. In addition, I got to know her because she was my advisor and later on as the advisor of Zeta Phi Eta the Speech Comm Honorary.

Sadly, I was one of the last students to take a course under Dr. Marshall before she passed away this July. Our class knew she was sick, but she made it a point to try and teach to the best of her abilities. I honestly think that if we had a better mix of students in our class, it would've been better. She was a nice, understanding person.

She definitely ought to be retired. Still, I disagree with other complaints. She showed no signs of favoritism when I had her, and it was very clear why I lost points where I did. Everyone else seemed to like her as well. Only thing is, for someone who teaches public speaking, she's not so great at it herself. Kind of boring, but a nice lady.

Great Teacher! I really enjoyed her class and giving speeches! She was very understanding and was very helpful! I think she is great and I hope to take her again! I learned a lot in this class and I loved all the fun speeches we did. Study for the tests, they are really easy.

OH MY! This thing needs to retire already. I agree, with others that rated her; she grades on whether she likes you or not. I did an informative speech on a topic I've been doing for years and she said it wasn't a topic I knew well. The class said I was great. Asked her to clairify an assingment on the board and she said; it is what it says.

The class is easy, but Dr. Marshall is not very helpful and is very disorganized. She grades based on whether she likes you or not, and she takes forever to give back your assignments. God help you if you ever need to go see her, because she's NEVER in her office, even during scheduled office hours. Some of her requirements are very unreasonable

Had her for Adv. Pub speaking. She is the most unorganized teacher I've ever had. Not clear on how she grades. Takes points away for things that either didn't need fixed or wasn't even a part of your speech. Class and goals itself seem very immature, seems like a class for people with no experience or no interest in speaking.

first off- who gives a former GYPSI their teaching certificate, I mean COME ON! This lady is strange and doesn't exactly grade fairly. My only B since I started at clarion 2 years ago! Easy tests-- AS LONG as you study for them!

I used to be a student at Clarion University, and have had Dr. Marshall for various courses. I believe that I could call her a mentor. She is extremeley helpful, and laid-back. She does expect alot of work out of you, but you learn a lot from her courses.
