Comment:

At first, the class will seem different from any other English comp class, but he makes it interesting. Controversial topics, makes you think. I definitely improved as a writer and persuader after taking this class. He is always willing to help and is easy to get ahold of via email. Would definitely take another one of his classes.

Comment:

Mr. Juchartz is an interesting guy. I was a little skeptical at first, because our first 2 papers were on controversial topics. In the end, I enjoyed most of the other writing assignments. He gives you plenty of time to revise and edit before the final drafts, so you don't stress too much. Overall, pretty laid back and cares about his students.

Great professor! Has individual conferences with each student a couple of times a semester to discuss your work and gives you a chance to make corrections for a better grade. Made me a lot more confident with my writing. I would without a doubt take another class of his.

I really enjoyed this professor. We had a lot of in-class discussions and debates that my whole class participated in. He kind of let us reign free with our papers, only giving his advice on corrections. Would take him again.

His grading is all over the place. My posts and papers have been either around 85% or over 100%. I am beyond confused as to why some of my work is considered well above his standards for a perfect grade and others just above average. He seems to enjoy feedback and writing best when one brings in historical references.

Issues pages and pages of convoluted assignment instructions. Hides pertinent information in obscure places. Tries to trip you up. Comes across as arrogant and condescending. Inserts his political bias into every lecture and assignment. Differing opinions not welcomed.

Dr. Juchartz is the best English teacher I've ever had. I love to write and he saw that and encouraged it in a way most professors do not. He is also a brilliant writer. He authored the textbook we used in the class. He was patient with everyone and gentle in his critique of some pretty terrible writing (LOL). He inspired me in my love of rhetoric!

As an online class I thought Larry was a pretty good prof. If you ever need help he is there and willing to help you as much as you need it. The assignments were presented in a clear manner and he provided examples to look at so you could have a clear sense of what to do. I would take him again.

By far the most intelligent professor I've ever had. He's very relaxed and progressive in his teaching. I've never enjoyed an English class as much as I did with him. You will be doing a lot of writing, but he is awesome and lets you branch out to use unique topics not just generic gun control, marijuana legalization, ect. TAKE HIS CLASS.

Not enough characters to accurately rate Dr. Juchartz. I learned so much more than I expected. He was clear, quick to respond, and pushed me in areas I, arrogantly, thought I was already good in. You actually have to dig deep and use your brain. It was an honor to learn under his direction. His rating on here is grossly below reality.

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS MAN!!! He makes you feel stupid for asking important questions. A very tough grader, half the time the grade asked numerous questions because his assignments weren't clear. Not a good teacher & he also canceled class a lot!!

Comment:

ENG 101 online I had taken 101 ten years ago and used this as a refresher. This time around it felt as if there was 10x the amount of work. He did grade fairly, and if you put in the extra effort, he will award more points than available. Promptly responded to questions, expectations were made crystal clear and he was very professional.

I was so worried because I don't like writing papers, but he was really awesome and very clear with you on what you needed to do to make your paper better. I love how he has personal meetings with each student after each paper to go over it with you. He's awesome, if you can get him, please do!

VERY arrogant. His assignment and grading breakdowns are unnecessarily long-winded and confusing. He does not quickly grade or respond to emails, but is accusatory when you don't immediately respond. The class organization is confusing, and he randomly switches between BB and email. Likes to make assigns due 7-9PM Fri night, no sooner or later.

He is very nice and out going. We finish what we need to do for the day then he lets us leave. Sometimes it might take all of class sometimes only 40 minutes. He never makes us stay just to sit there. He grades fairly. Lots of one on one time.
