Do not take the online class if you're not a disciplined student. No homework, no quizzes, no assignments, you're graded on two 50 point exams. He posts recommended study schedules, try to keep up with the reading. Take the practice quizzes he posts, as most of the questions are right out of the exam or are very similar. Easy to contact thru email.

I took his online Econ class, and it was the worst class I've taken. Unless you are an excellent test taker and like to teach yourself the class, steer clear. He posts zero lectures or any other original material, grades everything on 2 proctored exams, and tells you to buy an extra textbook--that he wrote. Save your money; take the CLEP instead.

I took his online class and it was BRUTAL. I took econ because I like econ and understand econ, and this class made me feel like I understood NOTHING. I read the books & felt like I understood everything, and then when I went into the exam I was lost. I don't even know what I got wrong on the exams! I would NOT take a class from Ross ever again.

The only material that is graded are 2 tests. He has a few practice quizzes to give you a feel of what the tests are like. So if you like not doing anything for most of the semester and then cramming, this is good. I also just kept up on the reading and only studied a little for the test. Open note tests if you take it in person.

Professor Larry Ross is the epitome of professional. This online macroeconomics class delivered everything I wanted as long as I was disciplined and focused. A GREAT class and a professor who really cares about his students' success.

This guy is horrible, from his reviews it sounds like his IN PERSON class is not so bad, but I took his online course. It was literally buy these books (one of which seemed entirely useless that he coincidentally wrote), take these 2 tests (no notes, closed book). No teaching. You don't even get your tests back for review.

Fantastic lectures- wants students to engage. Borderline grade swings w/ participation/quizzes. Attendance not required, but participation very recommended! 2 open note exams are majority of your grade. Several home quizzes w/exam questions drawn from- these are open also. Easy A if you show up. Barely cracked text- buy his workbook! No xtra cred

Decent professor. Responded to emails. Took online, grade is based on two 50-point tests. There is no other homework or assignments due, but there are plenty of study material available. The chapter quizzes AND optional quizzes are VERY IMPORTANT!!! He takes his questions directly off of those quizzes. Don't really need his Macro book, just txtbook

Class was online, completely self-learning course, only graded on 2 tests which makes it easy when coming to Homework which isn't graded, however you still have to do the work to learn it all. Worked for me in my busy schedule though.

I took his online class. The whole class grade is made up of two 50 point tests, there are no other assignments. If you study and memorize the flashcards and practice quizzes for each module you'll do good on the tests! He takes a lot of questions directly from the practice quizzes and puts them on the tests so study the practice quizzes thoroughly

Grade is based on two exams. No extra credit is offered. Practice quizzes won't count toward grade. Definitely a self taught course so don't expect much communication from the professor. DO your HOMEWORK, don't wait last minute, too much materials to cover. Exams questions are SIMILAR or IDENTICAL to practice quizzes. Passed with an A. Good luck!!!

Professor Ross gave lectures on the topic that were clear and understandable. There are no homework assignments in the class. Your grade relies on the midterm and the final but he lets you use open notes as well as the take home quizzes. If you show up to class and pay attention in the lectures, you will pass his class.

So it's my first semester at UAA. I take Ross's class online. The prof seems nice-but he doesn't interact with you at all. Outside of BlackBoard, he doesn't talk. If you take his class online, be prepared to read the textbook and take notes. DO THE ONLINE QUIZZES. DO THEM. They WILL save your butt on the tests (which compose your entire grade btw).

Hands down worst online class I have ever had, only because Professor Ross was so awful. The midterm is on first half of the book, the final is on the second half. He was nearly impossible to get a hold of and when I was able to contact him he would give 0 feedback and didn't seem to care if I passed his class or not. He was always very rude.

There are no assignments. This is a study. You are only graded on 2 exams. Each exam is based on about 7 chapters. You pretty much teach yourself. Don't wait till last minute to study because it is a lot of material to read and understand. Not much interaction with the professor. The exams aren't graded right away.
