Spreer is the most fair teacher I've experienced at UOP. His grading was very fair as well as what he expects you to know. He curves, and for free-response will be quite generous w/ partial credit as long as you show enough work he can tell the lines you were thinking on and the logic behind your reasoning.

Do the problem sets he assigns, they are good practice for his tests and he even sometimes put the exact problem you have for "homework" on the test. Read the chapter before he reviews it in class, it helps a ton! Know how to do the problems, he's pretty fair on what he expects you to know for tests, just don't make stupid mistakes...

Prof. Spreer was so-so. His lectures can be rather pointless, although he is usually fairly entertaining, and he really enjoys asking trick questions on tests. Tests have only a few questions worth a lot of points, and he doesn't like to give much partical credit, so your grade can be really hit or miss. I had McCallum for 25 and preffered him.

chem25 lecture labs with him are a joke. u dont even have to go its pretty easy stuff. the quizzes are a pain in the ass tho. don't worry they get easier. the first one's difficult to pass but all the other ones are doable. Spreer is sweet and to the point and concise. doesnt waste ur time on useless stuff. quizzes are graded by nit-picky Ta's thou

Spreer made everything clear and simple. He is SO HELPFUL and will go out of his way to assist students. It also helps that he's really funny and has some great stories! I would definitely recommend that you try and get his class because you won't regret it and you'll have a chance at an "A" unlike with other profs.
