Laura is a really cool teacher. This class is very relaxed. Very little work. Even though she refers to the book I haven't read it at all. It's mostly a discussion about current political issues and how to write about them. If you're looking to do a lot of writing, you're better off just writing on the Pirates Log. The class isn't what I expected

Love the Journalism 100 class. great teacher. However this is not an easy A class. There are deadlines and hard work and dedication involved. don't take this class if you don't like to work hard. But if you do then this is the class for you.

I hated this class because I did not learn a thing. She made us buy the textbook and we never even used it. Luckily, I sold mine on Amazon a month into class. She plays favorites and is such a daydreamer. She is still nice but me and her did have our little wars since I dont take crap from anyone. She gave me an A and I dont know why lol

Judgment is so personal (even if you are analytically-minded), that anything said here matters very little. In my opinion, however, Laura is simply great. Yes, she is a daydreamer and a little loopy, but just enough to make her an even more interesting person. She has a non-traditional method, which is why some of us admire her, and others don't.

first time taking any of her classes, i expected to like it, however from the first day of class i could tell i was going to hate it, i should have dropped her sooner, she makes me want to stab my eye out with a pen. worst teacher ever, daydreams and doesnt care about any oppinion other than her own. doesnt know how to use the equiptment. dont take

She may used to be a reporter and she may know her stuff about journalism, but when it comes down to photography... well, what can I say. She, from time to time, could get into daydream mode. Also, you expect her to know how to work her equipment in the classroom by now... Besides all of this, she gets a 3 out of 10 rating from me.

As others have said, sometimes seems to be "not really all there". Not meaning she's stupid, just a daydreamer. Will sometimes altogether forget to do assignments, and doesn't dock anyone points because of it. I never used the book the entire semester, class is laid back enough that if you are up on current events, you don't need it. Good/fun class

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!!! The class she is teaching that I'm taking is called, "Asian Film." You would think she would have learned how to use the equipment in the classroom before her first day of class, but..no! She STILL doesn't know how to use it. Another problem - on the first day of class, she brought in a busted DVD - I was ASTOUNDED!!

Pretty nice but unorganized and didn't really stick to the syllabus. I got the feeling that she doesn't really care about student views. When a student speaks up in class to offer their opinion, she would rush them, not appear very interested, and even LOOK AT THE CLOCK when someone was talking to her. I found that to be rude and unprofessional.
