Ms. Moore is amazing! She cares about social issues and definitely about her students! She just wants you to succeed. Only advice is to show up to class because you can't make up ALT's in her class and that makes up most of your grade.

Comment:

I strongly suggest you take her because I have learned through her lectures and notes. I enjoyed her class which Im also taking her in the summer, but anyways, she has strongly motivated me to major in Sociology.

Worked in groups basically every class. One take home test and a couple group projects with presentations. She doesn't require that each member of the group speak in front of the class so if you get nervous, it's alright!

While Lauri is a great person, I didn't really enjoy this class very much. The entire semester was spent doing a group project and then having a presentation each class period. Essentially, we were teaching each other about the social problems, but I didn't pay to have my peers teach me, I paid to have a prof teach which she really didn't.

Awesome professor! 3 tests, one being take home. Her lectures are amazing and she has a great grading criteria. Show up to class do the work and study for test and its an easy A! Love her would take her again��

The best professor at VC! I'm so sad she's retiring soon, but I'm so glad to have been able to take her class. Taking one of her courses was beyond educational. I'm so grateful to have taken her course.

The only I could see someone not liking her class is if they don't believe in climate change, are racist/sexist and/or just don't care about any issues. She really opened my eyes about important issues going on all over the world. At first I was a little skeptical because of the group project but as long as you get good team mates it's all good!

She's a good professor has interesting lectures, however if you're more of a conservative person then this class won't exactly connect with you as all the other reviews left on her as it did with me. She brings up trump every now and then but not to the point of annoyance. She also brought up Bill Clinton and his scandals so that was pretty great!

Great professor and great lectures. Gave a whole new perspective on things! She's really funny and so easy to talk to. She has a roll sheet so she definitely keeps track of who attends class! Study your notes and study the book and you'll do fine on the tests. Expect lots of group activities! Overall a really great PROFESSOR, recommend 10/10 :)

Her class is fairly easy. Take home tests. Not much homework. She is very passionate about what she teaches. One of the best professors I've had at VC. She is willing to help you out if you need it. I've taken her Intro to Soc. and Social Problems class. Be ready to work with others! She is very funny too, which is a plus!

Wonderful woman. Definitely take her class! Her lectures are phenomenally interesting and I loved her. Her grading is fair, we had one group project so just make sure you know how to deal with people not doing their part and crack down on them as soon as possible. Her tests are very fair too. Highly recommended! Shes also really funny :)

Amazing woman! Thanks to her I see my life & education in a much more positive way. She not only helped me grow as a student but as a person. Take her class and you will be so happy you did! Drove from Simi Valley to take her class, best class ever. She is not only an amazing professor but an amazing person. So grateful for the opportunity to take her class. I feel like I actually learned and took away something from her class. If you don't take her, you'll regret it. AMAZING.

Prof Moore is such a great professor! She has some of the best advice i have ever heard. She will also have you laughing the whole time. The stories she tells make you remember her lectures. Easy A she tells you everything she wants on her assignments. Must read chapters before class because she gets upset if you dont know the topic during lecture.
