Dr. Shao is a great professor. The class isn't too difficult, but the 45min presentation can be tedious. He is extremely generous with grading. You can take Shao or Brozik. Shao is easier, but you have a big project. Brozik is hard, but there isn't a presentation. Discussion questions and attendance are easy points.

I took Dr.Shao for Investments, and he is an enjoyable professor. The class really isn't too hard. He curves the midterm and final heavily, even though it's online. You will have to give a 20-30 min presentation with group. He does all he can to give you a good grade. He's the prof that will give you an A, if you are a few points behind.Take him :)

HOLY COW!! This class has changed tremendously. There's no longer any study guide or h/w's to help out nor are the tests in any way easy. They now have a considerable amount of equations on them and surprisingly the book nor the quizzes really helped. If you're not a math person, I reccomend you take the actual class, regardless, it's H-A-R-D!!

Dr. Shao is a really nice guy. You take 2 tests, a presentation, and a group presentation. It isn't bad. He is extremely easy to talk to, and I wish he taught more finance classes.

First off, he never, ever answers ?'s that are e-mailed to him even though his syllabus says to ask ?'s whenever you need. You'd think someone with a huge bio of himself on his syllabus would have enough time. Also, the e-course grade scale is 2% higher than a normal class, making it even harder to get an A. His grading of papers is very tough.

Finance is a hard subject, get over it. Any finance is going to be hard, buy Dr. Shao is a great professor, gives a lot of really good real world advice. If you actually try it isn't that hard to get an A.

I had him for a high school senior summer program at Marshall. He was so friendly and appeared interested in our futures. He talked on our level and was extremely patient with any questions. It was a great experience, and I learned so many things about handling money and ways to make profit. He knew his stuff.

He teaches this course like we are graduate students, but we're not. If you ask a question he bits you head off and still doesn't really make you understand the answer. He speaks above everyone's level of understanding. He needs to bring it down a notch.

Did not explain assignments well and was not helpful at all. Quizzes were not too bad, you really didn't need to read the book for them, but the tests were terrible, true/false and chose the best answer, one essay straight from the book.
