First off, math 311/312 are very hard classes. Murphy does a great job lecturing on material that is relevant to the hw and the tests. Also, she is extremely helpful during her office hours and practically writes out the answers for you. Tests are hard but that's expected from this class, regardless of the teacher.

I'm more grading the course than the teacher here. Math 306 is basically useless. The power series bit is useless and extremely difficult. I feel as if I didn't really learn anything at all. The matrix stuff is 10x easier and will save your grade on the final for sure. Study hard, and watch out for those trick recitation quizzes.

Can't teach at all. Goes super fast and gives very bad examples...examples that are too easy in comparison to the HW problems. Avoid her at all costs.

This instructor is very helpful during office hours. Class is informative and useful. Homework assignments incorporate computational and application examples. Tests are hard, but grading is fair. Recommend this class for advanced math credits.

talks very very fast. first test was so easy. second test was so hard. final was tricky. but if you are a kind of student who try to study from book and solve most of the questions, you will get an A. she's very helpful. if you are good at math take with her.

Moves too fast. Might be a good class if you have already had caculus, and use her as a refresher. first test was very easy with a good practice test, second test was way different than the practice test. Dont take her if you dont have to.

She loves to talk really fast and loves algebra, the class is power series and Matrices but she loves throwing in lots of algebra manipulations in on quizs and midterm. Supposedly we should know all of these manipulations. The final wasn't easy but not too hard. Keep up with her talking and do example problems and it will be okay.

She talks very fast and can be hard to follow. Often times she uses comlicated terms or ideas, and you ask her to explain them she just makes it more comlicated. Not too hard, but not easy. Don't miss class, the spiral book is crap.

Murphy is clear and helpful. She definetly has a no-nonsense teaching approach, so if you're looking for a lot of lame jokes I'd look elsewhere. If you just want to come in, get a clear understanding of the topic, take some notes, and get out, she's perfect. The tests were really straight forward.
