Comment:

Best math professor I've ever had! She sometimes doesn't quite understand what the students are asking, but she cares. And she is always happy to elaborate/slow down to make sure everyone is up to speed. If you have questions, ask them or she will assume you understand. Show up to every class & take good notes or you'll miss a lot of the material!

I HATE math, I have never understood it at all, but Mrs. Lutz-Todd is super helpful. She makes math much easier and is understanding if you mess something up on a quiz or test. She worked at my pace and explained everything without complaints. She is a great teacher! I recommend her, especially if you are not great at math.

Online 8wk Math 110. Connect math is a frustrating program BUT going to the math lab helped also emailing Professor Lotz letting her know what the problem was and she also corrected it and gave me the points every time. LOTS OF HOMEWORK but Im sure this is mainly due to the fact it was an accelerated class. Doable class but you have to work for it

I attended the SUMM 2017 class and although it states Intermediate it was basically an advanced online math class. The professor never taught of course, all assignments were online and graded by a system. The professor also gives a heavy homework load. She even assigns prehomework before the homework. If your awesome with math , online is the way

This teacher has an awesome personality! She really cares about you outside of class. I had a death in the family, and had to miss a few class periods. She was more than kind about it. I am awful at math, and still passed this class when in the past I struggled with another math class. TAKE IT. Study the online quizzes, and you will pass.

From what I can tell her actual "lecture" classes must be WAY better. The book needed for this class was posted on THE FIRST DAY OF CLASS, which in this case was on a holiday. I had 4 days to turn in 3 chapters of homework after not being in a math class for years. I feel like this was probably my biggest beef with the class, ZERO communication.

If you put forth the effort she gives you every opportunity to pass her class. She works with an e-book on Connect Math instead of a text book. Quizzes are taken online but exams are taken in the classroom. She assigns homework at the end of every lecture but you don't turn it in, it's just for your own benefit. Very smart and caring teacher.

Took this class in 8 weeks so there was a lot to cover. Failed the first test but once I knew what she was looking for I got a 96 on the next one. Ended up getting an A in the class. You have to work hard but I think she is a good teacher. I took 2 math classes from her so obviously I liked her teaching style. Work hard and you'll get a good grade.

Tests are HEAVILY weighted. Tons of homework assignments and discussion posts and they only count towards a very small percentage of the overall grade. Tests were very difficult and instructor wasn't very engaging. I felt like I had to teach myself the concepts . Hands down the hardest course I have ever taken.

I took this class with a different professor and failed it. I took it with her I got a B. Her tests are very simple. She does fill-in the bland which is a nice diff in math. It's to have the concept understanding. My only con is that when lecturing there is too much "fluff" when she talks. very kind but doesnt always stick to point/hard to follow.

Lotz-Todd is actually her last name. She was absolutely amazing. I loved having her class. She would explain things if there was confusion and made math more fun. She's super sweet and I would definitely take a class with her again. She made math easier. Warning: the homework is online, but there are redo's.

SHE IS THE BEST MATH TEACHER I'VE EVER HAD! Seriously, she made me love math because she taught it in such an easy and simple way! Go to class and take notes, do the homework and you'll get a good grade. I wish she could teach all my math classes!

I took Lotz-Todd based of the phenomenal reviews, here. I was extremely disappointed in the truth, or lack of, behind the reviews. If you like to pay someone to teach you just so you can end up teaching yourself, this is the class for you. She is a full time employee which leaves no time for help. Worst class yet at MCC.

Professor Lotz-Todd is a nice lady but her teaching style is very rough and not very concise. Lots of HW (which I agree has to be given to understand the work) but you'll red'v NO credit not even 10% of your grade for doing hours and hours of work and spend countless days in the math lab. Do well on her tests its the only way.

HORRIBLE teacher. Treats Campus class as an online class. Only uses Blackboard and Connect Math. Pass the Tests or fail the class. Teaches by doing examples out of the book, not by theory. Doesn't work with you on tests when you have an emergency. Worst Teacher I've had yet, spent a lot of time in the Math Lab and feel unprepared for Math120.

She is a fantastic math teacher and person. She takes her time to explain everything, is very understanding of her students and does all she can to help you succeed. I would recommend this professor to anyone who struggles in Algebra.

This professor is FANTASTIC and I would take her for every math class I need if I could!! I took her for MATH 120 and got a B, by doing homework & studying for her tests. She is helpful and values your understanding of the material. Expect to use ConnectMath instead of the usual textbook in this class, I was concerned at first but got used to it.
