I took the Warrior/Bardwell duo. I received a D- on the midterm and a D- on the final but ended with a B- in the class. Warrior's mditerm was 14 questions covering 11 chapters worth 350 points. UNFAIR. Bardwell's portion was a lot more fair. COMPLETE HIS PROBLEM SETS. A lot of the questions on the exam were very similar. Listen to his podcasts!

Took Warrior/Bardwell. MC 25 Q Midtern: 35%. MC 35 Final: 50.5%. Rest of % is Mastering Genetics & Clickers. Bardwell just reads lecture slides & doesn't know answers to questions. Only study lecture slides. He gave optional problem sets that mimicked the Final almost exactly. Work them religiously to do well. I'm serious. Did this and got an A.

I appreciated how he tried to make lectures interesting even if the topic was boring. His problem sets are SUPER helpful so do them. One midterm and final is worth half your grade.

Professor Bardwell is an entertaining lecturer and his demonstrations stuck in my mind while I was studying and taking the exam. The exam was straightforward and he gave plenty of practice problems, which were old exam questions. His lectures are better than the book to study from.

I had Professor Bardwell for Genetics during summer session. He covered the topics well, and both his midterm and final were very clear. He provided both a practice midterm and a practice final on his website. Even though class could be boring at times, he would really try to make the material interesting/ entertaining. Good professor overall!

Dr. Bardwell was a nice professor to have for this seminar class. I thought he explained concepts well and was very nice to students. He does not go through material too fast and is patient with students.

I took Bardwell with the trio and he was my favorite out of all of them. He's funny but he has a habit of just reading off the lecture slides and has like 100+ slides per lecture slide. He release A BUNCH of practice problems which are nearly just like the final exam questions. Go to lecture, read, do the practice problems and youll be fine.

He is very detailed in his ppts. There are required extra readings (will be tested on them) but I found them interesting. He posts multiple practice exams and problem sets which are super helpful. Some questions on the actual final were taken verbatim from the practice exams. Imo the final exam was a lot easier than the previous two midterms.

While he wasn't an amazing lecturer, he did set you up for success. Practice exams were very similar to the midterm and final. I took him over the summer and I didnt feel like the class was fast paced. Curve was nonexistanst as most kids did well, so you need solid A's on both the midterm and final, however thats super doable!

Best decision ever to take Bardwell for hard class like Genetics. Ppts are extremely organized and contain all the information you need to study for test. He was also hilarious with in class demonstration. Midterm/Final very straightforward & similar to practice tests. Study his powerpoints and do his practice tests you will be fine.

Great professor, but he reads more off the slides. His awkward humor actually makes the class not boring at times. Provides reading guide on specific sections to skip, scan, or skim, but still a lot to read alongside lectures. Lectures are mandatory but help in knowing which topics to understand most. Grading scale is generous, more than the curve.

DO NOT TAKE FOR SYSTEMS CELL BIO D190 IF YOU'RE AN UNDERGRAD!! Lots of coding/programming, yes you read correctly. Class should not even be offered for anyone not currently going for their Ph. D. Homework is super long and very difficult. Office hours DO NOT HELP. He doesn't understand that most bio majors have never coded before. AVOID IF POSSIBLE

He taught the second half of the class when I took it. His half is more interesting than the first half. He uses a lot of real world examples and it makes understanding the information much easier. His final was pretty straight forward too. His slides are super detailed and easy to understand, making the book almost useless

Comment:
Bardwell's portion of the course (1/2 Wunderlich 1/2 Bardwell) was definitely less rigorous and pretty much 100% memorization. Instead of applying your knowledge on the exam, you'll need to know facts from required readings, which I found difficult because you never know which detail you might get asked about. Lectures were honestly really boring.

Comment:
He's boring and dry. He literally reads his slides, which are detailed and isn't "active" during lectures. He makes changes to his slides all the time so if you print them, he's going to add stuff in later anyway. He seems disorganized but the good thing is his final is really easy. Do his problem sets and you're good to go for the final.

He is a nice guy but he just reads off the slides (which are very detailed and helpful). He has the last section of the course which is the most interesting overall. Make sure to re-read the lecture slides and do the practice problems he assigns before the final; the questions are very similar to the final. Study hard and you will do great.

He was my favorite of the trio, and also the most clear. He recycles test questions and provides a lot of practice questions for his section. His lecture notes were very detailed and clear. He is also entertaining and funny.
