I absolutely loved SOC 242 with professor Blackstone. The class a lot of reading and will keep you busy! The lectures are interesting though and the topics really make you think and teach you something new! He gives excellent feedback and generally wants everyone to succeed. Its not a class you can slack through but definitely worth taking.!

Prof. Blackstone gives great personalized feedback to your posts, he shares many interesting videos, articles, and books. I learned so much and he will make you question everything. I hope to take another online class with him in the future.

Professor Blackstone was the absolute best professor that I have ever had!!!!! He genuinely cares about his students and actively participates in the class. Readings were fascinating!! Whatever your major is you will learn things in this class that you will never forget. You will also learn a lot about yourself! He is genuinely a very nice person!!

One of the best professors I have at UMass. You can tell that he is genuinely interested in helping students learn the material. There's a decent amount of work, but read the lectures and you'll sail through the class. Would definitely take again.

One of the best professors I've ever had. Extremely knowledgeable, keeps the class interesting. Discussions were great, he participated. Exams were tough, but fair. If you read the lectures, you'd do fine. Highly recommend taking a class with Professor Blackstone.

You'll def. relate to this class, being a college student and all ;) He's got some great stories which gets you through classes. He says not to by the Mad-Dashers cause they aren't good, but he lies, he just wants you to go to classes. Get the dashers.

I think the class itself is overrated. However, Lee is a cool guy and tells tons of stories, which gets him off track and he cracks himself up, but it's funny. Didn't get to all the material on the syllabus,exams okay,grade is based on midterm and final
