This guy is not interested in asking students. He refuses to help students that seek his help through email and he punishes them if they do. He sounds like a great professor at the beginning when he lets the class decide the syllabus but really it makes the class more frustrating then helpful. The tests are super hard.

"If she says no..." "Proof we live in a stochastic world." First professor I ever encountered who recommended we take the time to write our own personal mission statement - first exposure to Steven Covey's "Seven Habits of Highly-Successful People."

My friend and I took Hoke and loved his class. Don't listen to the negative reviews. I read them and was so nervous but then ended up getting an A. He is not an easy A, but a fair A. You will learn a lot in his class. He also makes the syllabus with you so you know exactly what to expect and you have a say!

Professor Hoke cares about every student and wants everyone to do well. He does go on a bit longer than he needs to, but hes interesting. He makes the syllabus with you, so you have some say in what you want from him. Professor Hoke is a great choice!

Hoke is a good teacher, he is clear in lectures and provides homework and practice quizzes with very similar questions to those on the exam. Unlike many teachers he actually wants to see you do well. If you put effort in you will do fine in this class.

You're better off reading the chapters yourselves then trying to understand them during class. But attendance is mandatory and if you are even a minute late you will be marked for it

Hoke incorporates his teachings of economics into real life, which definitely makes his class more interesting. He takes attendance very seriously, but he's great at explaining questions if you're there to have them. He's super sarcastic and very funny. Clear on what will be on quizzes. Lecture heavy.

Hoke is super smart in economics but it is difficult to make it interesting sometimes although he does his best. He can really help you understand why economics is so important. He's very dry and sarcastic and may call you out sometimes . If you're late at all, even 1 minute you will get points off and not going to class will affect your grade.

Hoke teaches you more than economics. He teaches you game strategy, negotiation skills (especially with the syllabus), and contracts. Life skills that most of us will use OUTSIDE the classroom. Tests are fairly easy if you pay attention in class. Never studied for the test and still got an A. If you took Macroeconomics this should be a review!

Awsome guy, very good at teaching and knows a lot about economics. He is hilarious, but lectures get a little tedious. He does play games with the grading policies and the syllabus, so if you dont get his humor you might find it annoying. Everything is very clear, so as long as you follow the rules and show up to class you will do good.

Professor Hoke is hilarious and has really funny lectures. Economics is not the most interesting subject, but he does the best he can to make his course interesting. Lots of extra credit opportunities. Highly recommend this professor.

Professor Hoke truly cares about his student, IF YOU CARE ABOUT THE CLASS. If you pay attention and invest yourself Professor Hoke will go the extra mile to help you. He is not a tough grader all of the expectations, quizzes, and assignments are clearly laid out in the syllabus so there are no surprises.

It is now sunday night our final is tuesday and hoke has just informed us that he is adding 2 more NEW chapters to our final. All he does in class is graphs don't expect anything else, also doesn't teach half of the chapters. Lectures are boring and he never lets you out early. His tests are tricky and he plays games with the syllabus so watch out.

Dr. Hoke was one of the best teachers I've ever had. His lectures are hilarious and very interactive. He teaches Econ in a fun yet challenging way which makes you think through choices and how they would relate to life decisions. Easily my favorite class I've taken throughout my schooling.

Hoke is definitely one of the best professors I've ever had. He makes micro very simple and interesting. Can't show up to class late and have to do online homeworks. Would definitely recommend him if you actually want to learn. Tests aren't that hard either if you read and do practice quizzes before
