He's a good professor but aside from that dont take the class. The class only has two test that are completely lecture based. So if you are a slacker then not take this course.If you miss class you are missing material for the test.He is very hard to hear also. I missed 2classes and got a B. There were only 11/139 students that got A's.

He is an awsome guy. The class is very easy if you attend class because his tests are based on his notes. The topics are very general life topics so it is not something out of this world. And I loved his jokes. But do sit up in the front because it is somethimes hard to hear what he is saying. A good class.

enough with the freakin lame ass jokes in the beginning of class...trust me you will get tired of fake laughing. other than that sit up in the front of the class because you won't be able to understand a damn thing he is saying, and you will mess up your notes, i know i did

he's a genuinely nice guy and cares a lot about his students. i really appreciated the fact that, unlike many professors, he doesn't act as if he is infallible. in fact, he seems to really get excited when students call him out on things in class they disagree with. the material in the class is pretty interesting and the 2 tests are easy.

Not as easy as I thought it would be. Our grade was out of 150 points, 50 for 2 exams and then a paper worth 50 points. Not an easy grader, and our paper topic was a vague opinion-infused assignment and he was incredibly unclear about what he was looking for. Big ego and comes to class unprepared. Sometimes kept us for 20 minutes.

The class itself is easy as long as you go to the lectures and take good notes. He's is not boring and is even at times quite humorous. He loves it when students come to his office hours. The only thing is that there are only 2 exams and that is your grade, so if you mess one of those up, it kind of messes your whole grade up. Very informative man.

I've graduated almost 7 years ago and still remember how incredible Dr. Beeghley's class was. Dr. Beeghley is bright, kind, and humorous. He is one of the few teachers I've met that actually CARE about his students. I've even talked to him about my problems! He's a fantastic professor who teaches phenomenal classes.

Great professor,Great class....Although the lectures can be kinda boring at times, if your interested in sociology then take him! hes great and you can really talk to him I WOULD RECOMEND all sociology majors try to take his class.

Everyone just shut up about beeghley, hes the man. His class is really laid back, hes funny, and the topics he discusses are ones that anyone who follows any kind of current events will know. You have to be a moron to have this class hurt your GPA.

I agree with what someone else said: you might want to avoid this class and spare your GPA- the readings can be interesting occasionally, but with the class being strictly lecture, and with there only being 2 tests to determine your grade, I might avoid this class. A C in this class (due to one test) took my GPA down.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. He mumbles when he talks so you can't understand a word he says. The topics on his syllabus seem SO interesting and then he ruins that by simply reciting statistics and drawing graphs that only a 2 year old could understand. Your entire grade is based on 2 tests, and they are much harder then you think they will be.

The class was great because the readings were interesting, and not exactly the same as the lectures - they complemented each other well. I went and spoke to him several times, and he was always very friendly and helpful!
