Comment:

Professor Lesh explains material extremely clearly. If you do get confused, go to office hours, which professor Lesh is constantly holding. All the homework is directly related to what is on the exams. I would recommend taking this course with Professor Lesh.

Comment:

Those weekend office hours - they are a god send. Lots of HW assigned that required frequent trips to the office hours, but she really helps and come test time, it makes you really feel prepared. Also gives chances for extra credit via exam corrections or attending seminars. Good to have for some of the harder courses.

Extremely precise and informative teacher. Homework was difficult and so were tests. Need to know the material inside and out to have any chance at a high grade. Write down every single note off the board and you might have a chance. Really enjoyed her fast paced and thorough lectures. Very helpful in office hours as well, friendly. A+

Absolutely brutal professor and a really hard class. Doesn't give you examples for problems, and if she does they are rushed. Assigns a ton of homework and expects it will take you as long as it takes her to do. Expect to spend hours on homework each night assigns way too much. Tests are very hard. Talks down to students in a sly way. Avoid her.

This professor is very condescending, doesn't know how to teach, and requires attendance to her class when much more could be learned by staying home and using the text to study. She absolutely needs to be removed from the math department.

Lesh assigns a ton of work, expect to spend hours and hours on homework each night. Teaching is poor, spends the class setting up a problem, but only maybe does one example problem. For her examples she will usually get you to a point and say you can do the rest of it from here (when typically you can't). Tough grader, tough tests, cant stand her.

Professor Lesh is overall a decent teacher, although her class is a big time commitment. She explains things in class pretty well, although tests and quizes are difficult. She's willing to take the time out to explain things, especially in office hours. Gives clear outlines for all tests. Online homework takes forever.

Professor Lesh was a decent teacher. She does not explain math in simple equations, but in long, drawn out definitions. This was extremely disappointing. However, she was very helpful in her office hours, and genuinely wanted to help you. Her quizzes and the final was very hard, but her tests were fair.

i really enjoyed professor lesh, i thought that her teaching style was very straight forward. Day one she told us what to expect from her and that's exactly what she gave. The material was challenging, but it's calculus. and i believe for a lot of times, using the vernacular was helpful and gave me a way to think about a very elusive topic.

Useless excuse of a professor. condescending, not helpful, pretentious. Knows material well, but cannot figure out how to teach it. I cant believe i pay $50,000 a year for this BS teaching. only reason that made me want to discontinue my learning in mathematics.

Her class was demanding, and she assigned a lot work, but I found her to be an overall wonderful teacher. She had weekend office hours in addition to weekday office hours, which was really great of her. She devoted a lot of time to help her students. Excellent teacher!!

She uses a lot of vernacular instead of mathematical terms and asks a lot of easy addition questions and considers that class participation. She gives hard homework, fair quizzes and very hard tests. She tends to talk down to students. She gives webwork two or three times a week.
