Plain and simple, she cares more about the fact that she has her PhD than what she is teaching. She looks down on you if you don't know what she's talking about. Condescending if you ask for help. Thinks her class is the most important above all of your other classes. She sucks. Get ready to be confused every single day and teach yourself.

Ok, Dr. Poulton is a smart woman and an academic, but really, we need to have our assignments back in order to know if we even have a chance of passing the class at all or what the hell is going on!!!! We have hardly gotten any assignments back for the WHOLE semester, and none of them are our big papers. There is also waaaay too much homework.

Knows her French, however she was one of the most confusing professors I've ever had. None of us ever knew what was going on or what the assignment was. Very confusing. She doesn't know how to use technology which caused problems. Tests were relatively easy, however she does a terrible job explaining and you basically teach yourself. Good luck.

I liked Dr. P for this class. She's not the most organized person but she took the time to explain our readings to help us understand them better. :)

Dr P is a nice lady but not a good teacher at all. Her tests are hard because she doesn't teach you much in the class, but expects you to know things. She is very unclear about homework and when/if it's due. If you're good at French you should be fine and able to figure it out on your own but she's not a good teacher what so ever.

Dr. P is a very nice woman and if you try she will like you but she isn't very clear with assingments and does a lot of things last minute. Her tests are basically straight out of the book and you are never graded on speaking, almost 95% of the class is just knowing grammar which is irritating.

Dr. P is unorganized and never gets homework back! She is a nice woman and if you attend her classes and suck up you will do fine. Make and effort but don't expect to learn much.

Comment:
Dr. P is very unorganized and rude. Of the several writing assignments I turned in, only 3/4 were graded and handed back a month after submitted. I believe she rarely had a plan for class and often canceled last minute if she didn't feel like teaching. I easily received a 99% in the class, but it sucked putting up with her arrogance 3 days a week.

Ok, she's hard. I didn't pay to repeat high school. She insists on proper grammar, heaven forbid. She expects her students to act like adults - that is why freshmen hate her. She is good, interesting, and cares. Work hard and don't whine and you will love her and she will love you and give you the A. She appreciates EFFORT!!!

She ruined french for me. She was unhelpful and instead of preparing us for tests she would do pointless activities. She is disorganized.

Dr.Po expects you to work for your grades but I learned a lot.Instructions aren't always clear and she'll often just tell them to you in Eng. Extra credit really helps!Final was hard but midterm was easy!Be prepared for random quizes.I was scared to take this class but I walked away with retro credits!Overall I liked Dr.P & would recommend her!

Dr. P is very nice and expectations for coursework are clear. I was scared to take french at a college level but it wasn't so bad in her class. Take advantage of the extra credit.

Dr. P is a very nice professor, but she expects you to know your stuff. The pop quizzes are very difficult and the tests are fairly easy. She does allow extra credit. You have 5 "miss" days before you lose points for being absent, but if you miss a quiz you cannot make it up! Be in class and participate and you will do fine!

I don't care what everyone else says. Dr. P is honestly the best french prof at UWL and is very lenient with assignments and grading. You will get an A or B in her class if you pay attention and do the work. Get on her good side by joining french club and just being a nice person, she is mother like and the easiest french prof you could ask forhere

She's a pretty nice person, but she definitely has favorites. Make sure to put time in outside of class and do the practice exams (they're the real exams). She allows extra credit which can really boost your grade. Make sure to know your grammar.

Dr. Poulton is an extremely nice and funny lady, once she gets to know everyone. She does have favorites, and expects you to spend a fair amount of time outside of class working on your French. Grammar is highly stressed, and if you didn't cover it very well in high school and test into this class, be prepared. She does offer extra credit though.

She's a great person, but not such a wonderful professor. She is difficult to understand in class, isn't great at explaining things, and takes forever to return your work so you never really know what grade you're getting until the end of semester. Difficult, but great for 331, french phonetics.

Dr. P is rude, annoying and is the worst teacher at UWL. She doesn't help you if you're lost, she refuses to slow down, treats everyone like they are beneath her. She doesn't know how to get across any concepts that may be new for her class, she has favorites and ignores those she dislikes...avoid her at all costs!
