TOO MUCH going on this semester: an interesting book on Afghanistan, an interesting game called Statecraft + weekly memo 300 words, an interesting amazing collection of current events readings CONTENT OVERLOAD. talks endlessly and is painfully irrelevant and boring. lectures are mandatory but useless in terms of papers, midterm or final. hardly gives opportunity to participate, and yet stresses it.

He has such a pleasant personality. He stresses many ways to look at situations. Class is mostly Powerpoint slides but also had us break into to group dicussions. 15 -25 pgs of text to read for each class. 3 papers, a mid-term and final..but he's a lenient grader. He's extremely knowledgable without being snotty about it.

He is a very good and smart teacher text books are not that necessary. All one has to do is make sure that you show up to class b/c his lectre talks about the readings. His test are not difficult and he's very approachable. I will definately take him again.

Hes a great person, as a professor, maybe unmotivated. His teaching method is traditional, hard work is key. Over loads students with readings, which is fine, but only if the lectures help to understand the reading. Little feed back. Very handsome, a nerdy hot. :)

Smart and sweet man, but he has a very monotone voice and so it is extremely boring. He covers too much material and expects everything tp be studied for the test. sometimes you feel as if you are memorizing the history of the world.

Comment:

Professor Liberman was fantastic! Coming from MIT, one of the best poli sci programs in the country, he knows his stuff. Knowledgable lectures that provide both breadth and depth into subject matter. Focus on theory, human rights, economics, and then environmental issues. Mix of history and theory. 2 papers. Challenging tests. Worthwhile!!!

He's a very nice person but he gives a lot of reading. The test are hard b/c u don't know what to review from the 4 books. The 2 essays are pretty easy b/c he doesn't grade hard. The class is boring b/c he talks non stop except sometimes he'll bring a video.
