I took sociology of education for maymester and adored the class. Renzulli is so interesting. her class was mainly discussion based. we didn't use a book, only had online readings and printouts..Since it was maymester we had 4 tests but they were easy if you studied the material. Definitely recommend her. nice nice lady.

This is the best class I have taken at UGA. She is a fabulous professor who is very knowledgeable and interesting to talk to. Warning: She is extremely liberal but, she can support all of her claims. The class is eye opening and really interesting. Not that hard- you have to keep up with the readings but the papers are short and easy. Great class!

She plays favorites to a ridiculous extent. If you're not one of her favorites don't even bother asking her any questions. She will treat you with condescension bordering on cruelty! She is self absorbed, arrogant, biased and most importantly completely useless. If she is the future of Sociology at UGA, the future looks grim, indeed. AVOID HER!

Loved this class! Most of the class was just discussion, then a 3pg paper due at the end of each section. You can contest grades also, which brought my grade up when it was crunch time. Overall I just really felt like I gained a lot from this class. Too bad she was pregnant or I would have taken her this semester too.

Wonderful teacher! Her lectures are always interesting and she definitely knows what she is talking about. The tests can be difficult, but if you come to class and take notes (which she also posts online if everyone attends), and then study then you should do fine. Her class is interesting if you are willing to participate. Do the readings.

There are better teachers to take. Very subjective grader, and should be an easy A class but she makes it very difficult. Minimal reading and optional final were nice, but she makes all these assertions without backing them up with data, and wants to hear only her opinion. VERY opinionated and you will learn to just repeat back everything.Avoid

I loved this class! The discussions were always interesting. Not boring teacher and you don't have to take notes! She puts her notes online & the only thing that is required from the student is to complete the readings before going to class. There are random reading quizzes, but if you are there and skimmed you'll be fine. No textbook,2 tests,1 pap

Renzulli is radiant. Her course will make you a vertible expert (useful both as a sociologist and potential ****tail party attendee) in family and work affairs, and she's super-cool as a prof to boot. Take it!

It has been a while since I took this class, but as I recall she was BAD about picking favorites and did seem threatened by students who were more independent in their thinking. She also was difficult to approach if you weren't one of her favorites.

I took this class a year or so ago, but it has been one of my favorite classes that I have taken in college. The class was very open and discussion oriented, and I think everyone ended up genuinely interested in the material. The tests weren't easy, but there were no surprises. I felt like I used a lot of the information in everyday life.

Renzulli was a great teacher! Her tests weren't bad at all if you study your notes. She even lets the class write the test questions- you'll know exactly what'll be on the test! Attendance is important. You also do a portfolio- another easy way to boost your grade. There's a fair amount of reading and you'll be quizzed over it, but they're easy.

She picked favorites and obviously felt threatened by those who were more independent thinkers. Her tests were pretty straighforward from the notes, however. So take the class if you can deal with the personality.

Professor seems to have taken an instant dislike to several of her students. Blames them for not being more active in class BUT REFUSES TO CALL ON THEM, despite hand being raised for 1 hour (I was one of these). Several days in a row this ocurred.
