Professor Spatig was one of the best teachers I had during my time at Marshall. She really challenged my thinking and encouraged active learning. I found her supportive and approachable, yet she had high expectations of her students. Great professor!

It is obvious to me that there are very few individuals who understand both the rigor and the nature of qualitative research. Dr. Spatig is both knowledgeable and approachable. She is very willing to work with anyone who is serious about learning to conduct qualitative research. I could not have asked for a better instructor or mentor.

I totally disagree with most of these comments. Dr. Spatig was a wonderful professor, very down to earth and laid back. I believe I learned a great deal and would recommend her to anyone who takes qualitative research seriously. It's not an extremely easy class but very interesting. She is completely understanding, I loved her!

I think everyone who gave Dr. Spatig a bad rating is crazy! She is one of the best professors I have had at Marshall. She does not follow the traditional way of teaching but is fair and reasonable. Just have an open mind when you take her class. P.S.--Ten times easier than Quantitative Research (EDF 621) I tried both!

She teaches a class and does not do an adequate job. She loves to give assignments, make her own little corrections and then change the course syllabus. Why even provide one? Just pass out a piece of paper that says, "My way or the highway!" I will change anything!

Did a project, she didn't approve of subject matter and graded my work to show her disapproval, talking stuff like transcribing notes, everyone got A's I got a B, same with observation of group, everyone A's, I got a B, on final paper she wrote in margin, "OK, you did a good job with this A"

Had this class sometime ago. Did not learn much, should have taken EDF 621 instead. I got a B only becuase she did not teach and changed her mind. If only she spent as much time teaching as she did trying NOT to teach. I might have learned something.

She is an awesome professor and I never would have passed comps without her help. I don't find her to be controlling or angry. She is one of the most laid-back, friendly professors I've ever had.
