I've actually taken a couple classes with Dr. Zionkowksi. She's a really great professor, and though she is a tough grader, she gives great feedback and makes time for students outside of class. This is the first class where I could actually see my writing improve. Her lectures are also super engaging.

Comment:

Zionkowski is a lovely woman, truly kind, and very knowledgeable on her topic, but she is a very tough grader. You must read everything, extensively, and prepare to get destroyed on your papers. She's extremely rough on them, and pushes you to produce the thesis SHE wants out of it (get ready to do rewrites, folks). Hard class, good professor.

Dr. Zionkowski's grading criteria was unclear, and she over corrected little things that did not matter. If you made a misinterpretation while reading the book, it was your fault no matter what. She completely disregarding the fact that she was the professor responsible for teaching it. Also she corrected on of my papers in shouty capital letters.

Very nice woman, passionate about what she teaches, will give a lot of feedback on your papers, a lot of reading so make sure to keep up with the reading assignments. Overall my favorite professor I've had.

Very knowledgeable, and very nice professor. Her books are bulging with sticky notes, and she knows the texts inside and out; her lectures run like butter. However, her standards for papers are extremely rigid, which was frustrating. She leaves very little room for personal style as she is so hung up on format. Tough grader.

I love Dr. Zionkowski. She has teaching down to a science. She will give out detailed guidelines for what her expectations are, that are very helpful. She is strict, but by the end of her class I felt like I could almost write like a scholar.

I love Dr. Zionkowski. She is very energetic and helpful. She has teaching down to a science, and everything is helpful. She will give very detailed handouts as to the expectations of papers. After her class, I felt like I could enter graduate school the next day.

This professor has great knowledge about the material she teaches. However I found the course difficult. I thought the course was suppose to teach you how to analyze text but instead I found myself analyzing poems, short stories, and plays without knowledge how to do so. And when this clearly showed on your papers she still gave you a bad grade.

absolutely adorable. she's a wonderful teacher - super enthusiastic. apparently she wakes up at like, 5 a.m. every morning so she's ridiculously energetic, even in early classes. sticks to the book pretty rigidly, but is accepting of alternative suggestions/views. tough but fair grader. if you don't mind heavy reading, you'll love her class.

She gives you so much information and enthusiasm, it's really difficult not to love her. She's high up in the department and grades hard, but does everything she can to make you learn the info and share her enthusiasm. She is tiny and hilarious and one of the best teachers I've ever had. She gets really excited about everything.
