Professor Lipman is the best Professor at Rutgers. He is very inspirational and cares for all his students. Clearly he wants the best for all of us and wants us all to succeed in future. He is hilarious so his lecturing wasnt boring or painful to sit through. Definitely take an economic course with him!!!

Comment:

Professor Lipman is a great guy. Really wants to see you succeed and will help you if you ask for it, but does make you work for your grade. Attendance is mandatory because if you miss 3 classes he reserves the right to fail you. I didn't do well because I was lazy. Definitely buy the textbook, he lectures more on life than on microeconomics.

Professor Lipman is a nice guy, but not the best professor. The lectures are very unclear and not helpful for the tests. He is all over the place. If you want to do well you have to pretty much have to teach yourself the material. But, he will try to help you if you ask for it. Would not recommend for Micro.

This class is awesome. Whatever you learn has real life application. Professor teaches you how to be more successful in your future and gives advice for your career. If you listen in class and read the textbook you can get an A on the exams and if you keep an A average you do not have to take the final. I am not saying it is an easy A but doable.

This instructor changed my life. Business is business and he'll let you know it. I made a career change (turf management to financial advisor) after taking his class in the summer of 2006. Remember, we are capitalist, and in the end, we need the proper tools to pursue our dreams. Lipman will guide you through this.

He described this class as "he needed an outlet to give life advice to students". This class is more than just marketing, just listen to him. All you need to do is know all the terms in the chapter for tests and listen in class. I pulled of a B by just reading the textbook terms. only needed 3-4hrs study time before tests. attendance is mandatory

His exams are more difficult than they should be considering he does not teach marketing material! He talks so much but only 20% of it is actually marketing, all of which he reads straight from the book. He's not a bad guy; he just likes the sound of his own voice a little too much. Read the chapters in detail. Takes attendance.

He's not for everybody. Don't take him if you're not interested in marketing. I happen to like marketing and his personal stories were helpful, relevant, and entertaining. Those who do not like marketing/business may not enjoy his lectures. Really nice guy though.

Very opinionated. Tells personal life stories that he thinks are related to the class but actually aren't at all. I honestly just read the chapter that corresponded to the lecture in the book during class and didn't listen to him and got an A. Exams are straight from the book not lecture. Exams are easy no matter how hard he says they are.

He is really not a bad teacher, nor is he a bad guy. But his style of teaching really is not for everyone. He tells stories and explains real-life scenarios to help you understand the material, but never outright defines terms he expects you to know. He is incredibly helpful though, but you have to be willing to approach him, as with most teachers.

Awful, just AWFUL! All he does is talk about non- relevant stuff, such as his business, beer, and shrooms. Which I know sounds cool but it does not help you when exam time comes around. Doesn't give real notes, you just need to write as he talks. Honestly the only way you are gonna learn in this class is if you read the book and teach yourself

He is a nice guy, but horrible teacher. All he does in ramble on about his own businesses and then reads a few definitions out of the test book. You have to actually read to text book in order to know the material and really need to study. I went to 2 advisers about future courses and said taking this class was a total wast of time.DO NOT TAKE!

AWESOME professor. One of the only ones who really cares about your life after college. Let me take make up exams, and helped me find internship. ANYONE who did not like this class is simply WHINING - do you really expect to not do work? His tests are easy! He tells you if he doesn't go over it in class, it isn't on the test. Nobody studies, and they complain! He teaches you more than micro, he teaches you life and he's damn good. He is ACCOMPLISHED, not just some teacher. BEST CLASS EVER

horrible professor- no office hours, office is off campus (you need a car to get there); very opinionated, calls you out if you are late, attendance counts! exams are VERY tough, no curve...gets off topic and tells a lot of useless stories...
