This lady has been teaching here at OU for over 40 or 50 years and I tell you she is amazing! Her lectures are interesting, she's one of the most intelligent professors I've ever met and she knows how to explain things. Take her class and you won't be disappointed. She grades fairly and it's an easy A!

You can not possibly ask for a nicer, more intelligent professor! She's very well respected at the university because she genuinely cares about her students. You will learn in her class because she will make sure you do. If you can take any French classes with her (especially French through Film!) do; I guarantee you will be VERY glad you did.

Dr. Vines is the best professor I have ever had at OU. She tries so hard to make sure everyone understands material to their max potential, no matter the difficulty. I tend to get nervous before a new French class, but I've taken 2 with her and they're always so laid back. She truly cares about her students. I've learned the most French with her.

This class is great and so is Vines. She is extremely helpful and nice, and she doesn't waste your time with stuff you don't need. The main homework is making speaking tapes in the lab. Quizzes can be tricky, but she is very fair. Really improves pronunciation

Dr. Vines is amazing! Phonetics are so hard and this class was truly difficult, but she offers so much help like review sessions, extra worksheets, and individual meetings! I's a lot of work such as recordings and tests weekly, but your pronounciation gets SO MUCH BETTER! Class has a nice cushion grade though. Dr. Vines rocks. TAKE THIS CLASS!

Dr. Vines is amazing! She gets everyone in class involved with very little pressure. She also seems extremly excited to be in class everyday and is very passionate about French. She WILL correct your pronounciation every day- but it helps! She prepares you well for the test so then they're easy and essays are graded fairly. BEST FRENCH PROF SO FAR!

The definition of professionalism, tact, grace and elegance. Her combination of group work, lecture, and discussion offers something for everyone. Always a good listener during office hours. A fair grader with helpful comments. Available for meetings outside of class. A class act all the way!

I tried so hard in this class and only got a C+. I quit studying french after 5 years after taking this course. I couldn't handle her. Her tests are soooo hard. She's an extremely nice woman however and I still enjoy talking with her on occasion.
