he is a revered figure here but go figure. I revisit this now and ponder, a couple of years on, how bad this class was. He was intolerant, narrow minded, self-possessed, and I suspect, without scruples. Was of no help to me, an honor student in love with the subject. a merciful retirement.

This teacher was the worst. Boring. Lectures lasted the entire period. You write pages of notes about nothing. The book is a waste of money. Grades based on weither he agreed with what you had to say. Make sure your grammar is perfect, he thinks hes an english professor. Notes/test guides dont relate to his tests. I wouldnt recommend this guy EVER.

The man rambles about his harsh life and how bad it was rising up from a Kenyan education and brags about his 'amazing' writing skills. He is incredibly liberal and is terrible at verbally communicating his ideas. He needs to get over his ego, learn how to talk to students, and learn how to handle criticism. Very poor teacher, very harsh grader.

this guy was serious, could not hear him at all, gives you this study guide NOTHING on the guide is on the test. Egotistical person, refuses to speak up,does that on purpose, giggles at everything even when nothing is funny. Test are crazy hard. If you are african he will give you an A.

Must be hooked up to a microphone to be heard beyond the front row. His lectures do not relate at all to his exams, they are just personal stories. His review sheets are misleading. Read extensively, show up and try not to fall asleep. Would not recomend to anyone unless you have some HUGE interest in Africa. Nice guy, bad prof.

Dr. Khapoya is amazing. When you're in his class you almost feel like your in Kenya. I know it sounds stupid but he's amazing! Asks what he expects of you and if you make it to class you shouldn't have any trouble. He loves to talk, and talk quietly, I suggest sitting in the front! Very smiley, calm, easy going guy! Grades fair. Knows his stuff! :)

Without a doubt, one of the best professors I've ever had. Dr. Khapoya has an easy-going manner and likeable personality that made the class very enjoyable. This class was interesting to me because I didn't know a lot about Africa. His class opened my eyes fully to the whole african experience.

Khapoya's a great professor! You do have to do your reading if you want an A, but if you pay attention in class you can easily get a B on your tests. He really values writing so be sure to proofread your essays before you turn them in. I would highly recommend Dr. Khapoya to anyone who is truly interested in political science.

Khapoya is very sweet and really cares about what he is teaching. It is by no means an easy course, but if you ask and show an interest in the subject matter, he will go to great lengths to help you out.
