Comment:

I took her Survey of English Literature class from 6-9. She would lecture for a straight 3 hours with little, to no breaks or stopping. She is a wonderful teacher, but if you are not in class it will be hard for you. She doesnt count attendance but you need to be there to complete her take-home questions, which are often very hard.

Comment:

Elias is very knowledgeable. Sometimes she's a smartass but she's really caring at the end of the day. Loves class discussion so be prepared to talk. Quizzes every week on the reading for that week, two take-home papers (2 questions each 4 total papers), in-class midterm, and in-class final. Both midterms and finals are LONG (3-4 essay questions)

Professor Elias is a great professor. She loves class discussion, and she knows a lot about the material. She will repeatedly say that she is a tough grader, but I never got a low grade on any paper. She doesn't want fluff. She wants you to get right into your argument and support it.

Professor Elias is an inspirational professor who is tough but thorough. She will push and push until you (student) have reached your full potential.

She is super strict in class, you have to ask permission to use the restroom. She treats everyone like a child. Other than that she reviews the material thoroughly and makes sure everyone understands it. She is a good teacher. She says attendance doesn't factor into grade, but it does and she will yell and go on and on if you skip a class.

Very demanding, probably because it was a summer course.. definitely had her favorite students, but I wasn't one and still received a B+ in the course. Ask questions and participate, she'll like you more. No need to read anything because she reads it again in the next class

Really loves teaching. Just spark notes everything, & repeat what she says or argue but support it. She is really fair & very entertaining (her life is like a novel; no joke). Doesn't want fluff or too many quotes in her essays. Her final & midterm essays are open notes & she tells you the topics. Tough Prof, but very sweet once you know her.

She's a great teacher, like the other students said, she can be strict but you just have to go to class, pay attention, do the reading. BEWARE, her midterms and finals are 3 hours long and she makes you write 3 essays in each, so be sure you like to write otherwise you won't make it.

The best professor in the English dept. I took her for three classes, and want to take her again. She makes class very interesting, and is helpful to anyone who asks for it. great teacher, she knows what she is doing. she is not mean at all, but if your a fool who likes to talk in the middle of class and not pay attention, thats your own business. Read, READ, read, and do the work. its not hard at all once you read and understand. Funny lady, one of my favorite teachers i've ever had. Just do your work, simple. Dope!

Elias is a very entertaining lady, but not an easy A. She's mean and puts an act on at first, but she's really sweet and wants everyone to do good. If you attend class and put some effort in, you'll do fine. No need to buy the text, just get the plays/stories online and print them out.

Great, comprehensible teacher who exhausts everything you need to know for the two tests and two take home questions. Extremely hard grader, but tries to keep everyone on the same page before moving on. She sometimes does interpretations of text that are wrong, but just repeat it back and you're fine. Take good notes and write organized papers.

Run as fast as you can unless you can parrot back her views. I missed Summa because my final paper didn't conform to her views. She was amenable to me re-writing but after 2 meetings where she wouldn't give up on her point of view, for my paper and my conclusions, I said too much and took the grade. Shameful.

Probably the best professor Rutgers has to offer. Don't be fooled by her in the first couple of days, she acts mean to weed out the bad students. Her lectures are amazing, she really knows the material and is passionate about teaching it. It's very easy to get at least a B in her class, but an A is definitely not out of reach.

Doesn't let you question her teaching-professes Christianity way too much to be comfortable in class-doesn't let students go to the bathroom-An embarrassment to Rutgers and a stain on its reputation. She makes you navigate her insanity in order to gain access to her knowledge. A good professor simply gives you her knowledge with no attachments-BAD!
