Professor Swartz is a fair but tough teacher. This class will not be a cake walk, and you will have a good deal of work to do every single week. Be prepared to read, and make sure you follow his rubric's to perfection. Simply your answers for the case analysis, you should only be using your book to find answers, not outside sources. Tough class

Louis really wants his students to succeed, which I give him credit for. He's always available after class. He won't take your BS if you skip an assignment unless you have a good reason why you didn't do it. I found his lectures pretty good with real world applications. However, he spends a lot of time pulling teeth for answers, wasting class time.

Awful professor, does not care at all about his students. His lectures explain nothing and his "lecture notes" are incredibly pointless. Very rude and expects you to write essays for simple answers does not care if it is correct. Don't even bother using the textbook because he constantly says the answers you give are wrong. Worst professor.

Takes attendance every class. Extremely tough when it comes to grading and theres hardly any points. One test was online but no answers could be found on the internet. Gives bonus but it is not enough to help and if you miss an assignment he does not let you make it up. Instead lectures why you should always be there. Also lectures the whole class.

Not even 300 points available in his class. If you struggle on a test you could say goodbye to a good final grade. He does know his stuff but he expects way too much for an intro course. No food or phones unless you want to be embarrassed in front of the entire class. I've seen it happen multiple times. Stay clear unless you have experience already

I do not usually rate professors but this professor is horrible. One of the worst I have ever had. He does have high credentials in law but he is to strict. I took a 1050 level class (freshman level) and it was harder than some of the 4000 level classes I was taking. DO NOT TAKE ANY OF HIS CLASSES. Hopefully he retires soon.

Well at first the class wasn't bad but he lectures a lot and is difficult to hear. And he creates his own examples to try and get you to understand the material but he seems to lose his idea really fast. And you have to buy the textbook because he apparently helped write it.

He doesnt speak very loud. I sit up front and i can barely hear him. He does nothing but lecture. So be prepared. If you can essentially teach yourself youll be fine. If not I can't recommend him to you. Tests are difficult. No homework unless he misses a class. I can't say i'd recommend him because i was beyond bored to death in his class.

This class was a pretty boring class and Swartz takes attendance for every class. Most classes are 50-60 students, but Swartz tries to be as helpful as possible with every student. Tests are difficult, but he curves the tests and offers a lot of easy bonus points throughout the semester.

dr. swartz is a great guy.... he is a very good teacher and makes law fun.... you can talk in class or just sit and listen... tests are a little challenging but gives alot of EC opportunities.... he is a steelers fan and talks about it every day after the game.... he should not be a 1.8 on easyness here... he deserves better...

Had him for an online class. Truly awful. Tons of work, each assignment worth only a few points, and he's very quick to take off points. Demands information that isn't provided in the book or lecture like we should all know as much as him. Knowlegeable...rather have him as my lawyer than my teacher. I have trouble staying awake in his class..gives bonus points so take advantage of them because his tests are really hard and usually 75 questions. I have to take the class for my accounting major and i feel like i'm majoring in law when in that class.

A brilliant professor. Extremely hard on tests, and takes attendance every class. Although he will give extra credit on coming and participating. He knows what he's doing, but expects students to think like lawyers...because he is one. Do not expect this class to be easy at all, definitly one of the hardest professors ive hard at RMU.

Dr. Swartz is a very interesting professor. Knows the material well; almost too well since he has his own practice. Homework was very reasonable (even if you work full time); tests and quizzes are hard unless you actually read the book - I'd recommend it. Put some effort into this class, read, do the assignments, and it's a great class!

Swartz was probably one of the best professors I had while at RMU. I was a business education major and learned so much from this man. He will make you learn the material and will give bonus points. He is for sure a great professor if you want to learn about Law.
