You're graded by a few tests (4) based off of his in class lectures. The final is another test that is equal to the other three tests. He does very well bringing together a lot of subjects under the lens of economics. He also gives out worksheets with all the points he covers in in-class discussion (but you'll have to take some additional notes)

Comment:

Massoud Fazeli is an absolute gem. He tests on the bulleted handouts on books that he has read, which aren't difficult, but it's hard to tell exactly which questions he's going to ask, so if you focus on the wrong things on the handouts you're screwed. However, I would 100% take him again for his sheer story-telling ability and wisdom alone.

during every class, he basically just gave us handouts that the 3 exams were based on. Not a cumulative final, thank goodness. as long as you really study the handouts he gives you, you will do fine. exams were 20 questions long, short answer (1-4 sentences). some exam questions were confusing but overall not bad. really nice and funny guy.

I cannot brag about this guy enough! He is one of the best lecturers I've had at Hofstra; he's very knowledgeable, but very casual and tells interesting stories from his traveling. If you come to class and take good notes there is no reason you can't get an easy A

I took his summer session class so it might be different than a regular semester but overall an easy class with only midterm and final. He doesn't take attendance but you need to go because the tests come exactly from the notes. He offers an extra credit book report and is a really nice guy if you need help

Comment:

Fazeli is one of my favorite professors. I also had him for ECO 001. He makes Economics interesting and his entire class is a lecture but its clear explanations on concepts for his exams. He also offers extra credit. If I have another opportunity to take one of his classes, I would not hesitate.

Don't know how I feel about him. No homework and attendance doesn't matter. Gives 2 tests and a final and offers extra credit. Economics isn't my thing so I didn't particularly like the class. DO NOT buy the textbook. Nice guy and he takes the cluster on a field trip.

Fazeli is great! Had him for ECO 2 and am taking him again for ECO 1. Gives great lectures and take good notes because that's all you need to do well. Tests are fair and he offers extra credit. No HW and he cares about his students and is very reasonable. He's pretty funny and doesn't care about attendance but go to class if you want to do well.

Fazeli is an amazing person and professor. While the material may be dry, his lectures are very interesting because he's so passionate and intelligent. I only used the textbook for study references or if I missed a class. Exams are based on lectures, so you have to attend and take notes. Offers extra credit and grades on a generous curve.

Professor Fazeli is one of my favorite professors. He really knows his stuff and will go out of his way to help students. Everything is based on the lectures, but they're usually really fun. His accent is adorable. Never assigns homework, and I would recommend him to anyone looking for a fun Econ class. TAKE THIS MAN

I took ECO 001 with him during the January intersession. He never gives homework, and you will never need the textbook because what he covers in class is all that matters. However, I wish he would be more lenient when grading exams. You have to really know your stuff in order to do well on his tests. But other than that, I'd recommend taking him.

Massoud Fazeli is very clear in his presentation. His exams come straight from his class lectures. Just come to class, take notes on what he says, and study your notes for the exam. He's a very nice man, and I enjoyed being in his class. The only bad thing was the horrible classroom the class was held in (it had chair-desks at $1125 per credit)

Fazeli is an awesome teacher. If you attend all his lectures and take good notes, you never have to pick up the text book. He also gives a lot of extra credit assignments to boost your grade. I would definitely take him again!
