I really don't know what the people below me are talking about. Buehler is not a good professor. His thick accent and mumbling make it very easy to fall asleep. Unless you take time to read book before hand, his lecture are hard to follow. If you're a normal person who wants to enjoy their summer, avoid this prof.

Dr. Buehler was a great professor. He is very approachable outside of class.. I never go in to office hours but he was very very helpful. I did really bad on the midterms, studied really hard for the final and ended up doing pretty well in the class. I think he grades based on improvement which is really nice. Having a noncumulative final is great!

I loved Professor Buehler! I went to his office hours several times and he explained things so well. He gave me an A+ (even though I only got a ~94% or so). He truly shows interest for his students and he's so easy to approach. His tests were pretty easy (all short answer). There were 2 midterms and 1 final (non-cumulative!). It was an awesome clas

I really enjoy going to class and learning biochemistry from Dr. Buehler. His lectures are interesting and engaging. I like the fact his slides/notes and the lectures are made available on his website and downloadable on podcast. The text and reader are excellent reading material. He's a really nice guy and cares about the students.

nice guy, but very boring lecturer. the 3 hour summer sessions are especially a pain. doesn't explain things in depth, his reader is difficult to follow, book is okay though. doesn't make you memorize molecular structures. lectures with powerpoint, never uses the board, so that's pretty bad to me. just takes diagrams the book really.

Okay so he has a monotone voice, but he does a good job of explaining the material (but you really have to pay attention). He won't make you memorize useless crap like structures. His exams are not too bad but his final was pretty hard. It's not a cake class, but then again your at UCSD.

the class was 3 hours and he has a monotone voice. it takes lots of effort and coffee and candy to stay awake. its not hard but it requires some work (as in you should at least look at the slides and try to remember what they said. i regret going to class because i didn't understand what he was saying. anyway, i went to section and aced it. lol.

I love Buehler! He doesn't make you memorize pathways/structures or other useless info. He teaches you USEFUL information that you might actually remember after the final is over, imagine that! Do yourself a HUGE favor and take metabolic with Buehler.
