Dr. Amspoker is very detail oriented. When he grades, spelling and definitions matter and he will take off if you use one wrong word or letter. Even though he is a tough grader, I would love to take another class from him.

Teaches really well, but you gotta take notes. However, exam questions are not really focusing on your understanding, but on how much you can memorize terminology and facts from lectures. For people with memorization ability you will ace.

Honestly don't know what others are talking about. He is a very passionate, knowledgeable, sweet and funny professor who cares deeply about his students and their success. His classes are challenging, yes, but you can't expect to get by college on easy A's. Work for the grade, it's beneficial. GREAT PROFESSOR!

Let's just put it this way. It is one of the hardest classes you will ever take, but if you work for it and are attentive, take notes, and ask questions in class or during "office hours" then it is also one of the best classes you will ever take. It is one of the few classes where you will be able to say, "I learned something and I worked for it."

Although you do not use your textbook very much, keeping notes is the most important part of surviving Biodiversity. The tests are hard at the beginning but figure out his teaching style and you can do great in his class. If you ever have a question, he will be glad to help.
