Great teacher in the beginning, but once getting deep into the semester things changed. I made one mistake on one of my paintings and he said "it's trashed." I have never taken up painting either and he told me to do the painting completely over. This guy is too critical for an 100 level course-what does he think we're doing here painting Picasso's

I loved Mr K. He was funny and always had an artistic story to tell or something. The only thing I hated was it was like a 4 hr class and we spent almost 3hrs "Thinking" of a project one day when I could have been in my dorm resting lol. But we had no final. But had a final project which was cummulative of everything u learned. He was pretty cool.

Taken at umbc. Unreasonable. Grade was determined by weather or not he felt you learned enough- which means how well you followed his rules, regardless of how well something was drawn. Would be helpful to not art students, but was frustrating coming in with prior drawing knowledge.

He's a jerk who doesn't know what he wants. I gave him an idea I wanted to use and he trashed it. The next week he gave me the same idea back. WTF is he thinking?! Also, made us sit in class "thinking" about what our next project should be for 12+ hours (4 hour class). Don't take him. He's a crazy.

Mr. K made this class fun. Everyone in my class were non art majors and he taught us different ways of looking at everyday things in a creative light. If you need help, just ask. He has a great sense of humor and makes the class go by quickly.

He was an amazing teacher! I'm a biotechnology major, but he took me seriously,and helped me to discover my artistic side. His class work was easy and I was able to get an A without any artistic ability whatsoever. I would recomend taking this class for anyone, art major or not.

one of the worst teacher i'v had at villa julie. He told me i had an a going into the final project then gave me a c in the class. Never could clearly tell what he wanted. and graded all as if they were art students. take someone eles.

One of the worst teachers I have ever encountered in my life. In my opinion, Lyle is rude, condescending and pretentious. His lectures were anticommunicative at best, he could never get his head straight as to what he wanted from his students and he never replies to emails. Stay away from him.
