He does have a bit of a habit to rant in classes but he is very good if you need someone to overlook your work, especially if you're working on an editing project and need theoretical feedback, he is great!

Banks uses his class as a platform to discuss whatever he wants, he rambles, and he is often times offensive and inappropriate. Taking notes is impossible as he rants about whatever pops into his head. There is no class participation because he never stops talking. If you do not want to learn and earn an A, then see Banks.

He has a lot of experience in the industry but I can understand from the type of personality he has that you are here to learn, not to fool around. This is a professor that is going to help you, so that when you leave college, you will be successful.

He is a very knowledgeable professor and has given me plenty of opportunities. I first met Dr. Banks in 2014 at the NYIT open house and its been a pleasure working with him ever since. What I like specifically about Dr. Banks is that he makes sure everyone is on the same level and is up to date on things. He doesn't pick favorites.

I took Michael Banks course back in the 80's for my Masters Programme Media Critic was the course I don't know the number and only put 101 because it is requred; found him very interesting in his presentations and an excellent teacher then. Very Knowledgeable and a great communicator. I am happy to see all the good things said about him even now

With out a doubt the best teacher I have had in all my years of attending school. Worldly. Relates to students of all ages, cultures, and races. Makes them feel at ease with course material. Always gives essay tests but doesnot take nonsense.
