Cohen has to be the worst professor I've had at the University of Washington. He was the most boring lecturer I've seen. At the start of the quarter, there were about 30 students enrolled and regularly attending the class. By the end of the quarter, there were only 5 that regularly attended. My advice: do not enroll in his courses! Stay away!

Good teacher. Very stupid class. I was under the impression that introductory philosophy would be fun. Apparently not! The later philosophy courses are probably better but I'm talking about Phil120 here and it sucked! Don't get me wrong. It wasn't the profs fault. Made class a little more enjoyable with his unusual jokes. Stay away from this class!

Good prof, he was very helpful and active in helping students especially through GoPost. Lecture can be tedious but are usually worth going to. His wry sense of humor shows up in the notes and in examples, smart guy.

He projects his lecture outlines onto a screen and then moves through the outline and elaborates on everything. He reasons everything out and makes what he's talking about crystal clear as long as you're paying attention. And he has the outlines online so it's easy to review, since the outlines basically have all the information you need. He's a really intelligent guy, and a great lecturer as long as you're interested and paying attention.

This class will make you hate logic. Using a computer program to learn something as complicated as logic is really too difficult to pull off with 200 students. Classic example of a teacher who never understands why his students find something hard, so he cannot explain it. Only take if you are good at teaching yourself.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!! He tries to explain everything, but fails miserably. I even went to him during office hours, and still couldn't understand the material. Boring lectures, boring content, the only way you'll pass is if you get a good TA, and oftentimes they don't understand the material.

Cohen actually isn't too bad and he tries his best to explain this subject, but he tends to confuse you more by overcomplicating things. This was the hardest class I've ever had in my life, and Professor Cohen's little tips and hints did very little to help.

learning logic through his computer-integrated course is just not very effective. it's hard enough understanding logic but learning how to figure out that glitch-ridden program was just a ****. i advise taking logic thru another prof.
