Dr. Esparza is a tough professor. This was my capstone course and we had a 20 page mini thesis but also had several online reading responses which made it difficult to focus on the mini thesis. Dr. Esparza is a easy to speak with but is sometimes unclear on her expectations. Got a C- cause I missed a few assignments & fell short on the mini thesis

Lecture speaking voice is somewhat distracting. She pushes her leftist agenda on students and gets offended when you challenge her. Sweet lady though. Very smart when it comes to her specialty. Dont do a paper on Guatemala because she knows if you miss any little detail. No textbook and no exams.

Professor Esparza i??very passionate and professional in the field of wars,atrocities, genocides, especially those in Latin America. Also, Professor Esparza will thoroughly discuss and work with you on other ICJ related topics. There are assigments due every week on blackboard and you will have to complete a 7000-8000 word mini-thesis in the end.

She's a hard grader, has certain standards but doesn't explain this properly with clarity. Did no use the textbooks at all. 3 questions and answer assignments. Midterm and final correspond with each other. 5 page and 10 page final. 1 group project. I wouldn't take her again although she is not as bad as other prof. at JJ. she is NOT the worst.

One of the most disorganized professors at JJ. The professor while very friendly and sweet lacks the ability to effectively teach this course. She constantly reminds the class of her passion for the subject but neglects to incorporate the class into the course. Text book was never used. Overall complete waste of time.

Disorganized. When you ask her to be specific, and to actually teach she will trail off any never answer the question. Gives us incorrect information, which we have to go back and correct her on. That is the worst part. How are the students suppose to know if she is teaching use correct or incorrect information. A mess.

I expected this class to be more interesting.(not at all) I think I learned more reading the book than the teacher. she really doesn't know how to teach, and the lectures suck, very dry.she is not into the students at all. 2 exams for the entire semester not good. If you don't do well, your lost. Don't recommend this teacher, if you want to learn.

She is AWESOME! Youl will love her. Class is very easy, 3 essays, 2 exams. You most be the textbook and attend class. Discussions are lively. She is a strict grader, expects you to proof read your work. I guarantee you will learn a lot in this course. Plus, she is very funny.

Class is disorganized! She seems to always jump from different topics. She is a strict grader but I don't know exactly why when much work isn't done in her class. I personally will not take her again. I honestly think a professor should have their lesson planned ahead not once it's time for class.

She is excellent, one of the best in this world. She know her stuff, the assignments are easy to do, multiple choice midterm and final exam, she is funny and she like students' participation in class. She is an easy A and you really learn the class. I highly recommend Prof. Esparza. She is great.

Excellent professor, good at what she does. Pretty straight forward class, nothing to difficult. She doesn't really make things complicated. The assignments are so simple. One book she made us read, but didnt give any assignment/test on it, so that was a waste. Excellent Professor plus easy course work, I would def. recommend.

She knows her stuff which can make the class interesting!! I like her overall she's kind of funny and at times though the class is a bit boring it gets better through the class. She takes attendance at the end which can suck if you want to leave early but is good when you want to be late. Her midterm is open book,but the quizzes suck.

It was an ez class, I breezed through the class throughout the whole semester, Shes very knowledgeable but can be a bit boring. Jus be ready for her 1 or 2 question quizzes, all we did was watch movies and the final paper was ez!
