Comment:

Marden has a pretty witty sense of humor, and you have to be quick to catch it. The class is super easy if you've already had music training. He takes attendance most days, and is willing to work with you if you're not there. Kinda boring, but it gets you the credit. Easy test, one presentation.

Dr. Pond is a really good guy. He cares about the subject and the students. He grades pretty fairly on papers and assignments. Didn't require memorizing music, but you still have to know the era which can be tough. Not the most exciting class I had, but not a bad professor.

Dr. Pond can be a little dry sometimes but he really knows his stuff and cares about the students. His tests were pretty fair and the class was not terribly demanding. He did not require us to listen to memorize the music like lots of teachers do but you still should because he does a listening exam based on the era of the music, which can be prett

This professor was extremly slow to respond to any emails or phone calls to his office. I had to actually call the Dean to get him to get in contact with this professor. I did a distance education class, tv course and even the guests he brought on would fall asleep! Very boring!!

Dr. Pond is a great guy! Gets slightly off topic when excited about a new concept, but will answer any question. Grades homework very quickly and fairly. Told exactly what was on exams during review. Flexible on due dates. I have another class with him this semester. :D

I thought this class was going to be fun, but it turned out to be a waste of time. Dr. Pond is really intelligent when it comes to the subject but I didn't really care for the class. I found I had to a lot of the projects outside of class because he I didn't think he gave enough time to finish them in class.

I love music and music production, but the class is kind of a bore. I find myself falling asleep and the class is at noon! I wish we had more assignments because he takes way too much time explaining. Let's do hands on stuff because these music programs require hands on stuff to learn.

Teacher never responds to emails and takes almost the whole semester to grade papers. I took this class over distance ed (tv course) and I would not recommend doing this. His quizzes are easy but the papers and four arts encounters take a lot of time and energy. Class requires a lot of time.

I love this teacher! he took time out of his busy schedule to show me some techniques and to help me out with music theory. It helped me so much to have him as a teacher and he is one of my top favorites of all time. He made this challenging subject exciting, beautiful, interesting and fun. Thank you.

For an entry level class this teacher expects TOO much. The 4 quizzes are not hard, but the 5 3-pg papers & the 1 5-pg paper are impossible. There are a lot of "out-of-class experiences" required and to get a decent grade on the papers you should double the length he asks for. For what he makes you do, this class should be 5 credits.

I took this class to be with a friend, and I have no desire to go into music, but it was interesting anyway. There are a couple of projects, if you want to you can do them in 2 class periods, and pass. his tests are sort of tricky, but if you study you will get an A. His lectures are dry, but I am not interested in the subject. An easy A

The class is pretty boring, but not too difficult. The papers were hard, I usually averaged somewhere in the B range. The Comparative project isn't too difficult either. I wouldn't strongly recommend him, but he isn't terrible. Overall a nice guy and easy to work with.

gives you all answers to the 4 quizes. papers are hard to get an A on but not impossible, doesnt use minuses and pluses on grades. encounters are 3 pages each and theres 4, plus one 5 page comparative project. boring class but I only went on quiz review and quiz days. really nice, understanding guy, i got 50 on first paper and he let me resubmit it
