Chapman can be a good teacher if you get the subject and if you do ALL the problems she assigns (every problem in the book). But I've had alot of problems with her because she is a very, very picky grader who is uncompromising when it comes to partial credit. I would have gotten a full letter grade higher if I took this class with someone else.

Chapman is great - I'm sad that she is retiring. I had her for intro she's the reason I got so interested in econ...if you keep up with the work you can get a good grade just dont slack off because you will get a C or D on a seemingly 'easy' assignment or test. Put in the effort with reading/HW and you can get an A

The book is used A LOT so make sure you have a copy. The tests mostly come from her lectures and the multiple choice questions can be really confusing. Her lecture is very dry and she's ok if you fall asleep so long as you don't make any noise...learned that from experience.

Good teacher. Just boring subject material. You can also get by by not reading the assignments since the tests and quizes are only on her teachings in class.

Dr. Chapman is extremely helpful and knowledgable about her courses. She writes out neat, organized notes, gives short problems to help you understand and really does a great job. sometimes boring in class, but nonetheless a great teacher who wants to help you succeed!

Hmm...Econ 314 was by far my toughest course at Wesleyan- What killed me was that I wasn't really serious at the beginning until my first test where I pulled a miserable D- Regardless, As are doable as long as you are prepared to do three hours of reading before each class and you take good class notes-

Very straightforward and clear. Stick to the syllabus, no nonsense. Dr. Chapman was by far my favorite professor during my time at IWU -- I took as many classes from her as possible (Money & Banking, Urban Econ, Econ. History of the Great Depression)

Nice prof. A little dry, but very enthusiastic and interesting if you talk to her outside of class. If you participate and show intrest she will love you. Quizes and tests are ridiculously easy if you read. If you know econ you don't need to go to class too often.

Terribly boring. Maybe thats why I went only 2 out of 4 times a week (once to take the quiz, once to get it back). Still, didnt pay attention, go, or read, and came out with a B. Im sure youll get an A as long as you try harder than me.

A very straight forward prof. She follows the sylabus very strictly. No breaks. She knows economics very good. If you can take the boring class time and feel like reading chapters and answer questions its not a bad class.

Hardest 8:00 AM ever. Chapman knows her stuff and she teaches it well, but don't expect any cheerleading. If you show up and put forth effort you'll succeed greatly in her classes. Her teaching style is kind of dry, so again, avoid 8:00 AMs.

This professor is good! She's the best professor to have for econ at IWU and she knows her stuff. She makes her expectations clear. The class is fast paced and beware of the shapters starting at chapter 20 the concepts become harder and seem to go pretty

If you do what she says to do, you'll get an A. It's not an easy class and is a good deal of work, but if you do the work you'll be fine. Lectures are killer, though (and not the good killer like it used to mean).

Nice person, bad Prof. Her quizzes are uncomfortably easy while the tests are painful. I learned more with the tutor then in class but if you see her during office hours she can clear most things up for you
