Dr. Crouch is a very inspirational professor. This class was very interesting, and I learned a lot. Since this is an introductory course, you learn a lot about different topics. If you actually read the material and pay attention in lecture, it is not hard to understand the class material. The lecture slides are available online to study from.

Prof very inept at managing class. Powerpoint lectures would never be available to the class before the exam, so studying was a nightmare. (and yes, the syllabus did say they would be available). In addition, there was never any clear grading criteria. Tests were on very specific key facts that may or may not have been mentioned in lecture.

I took this class as an elective class big mistake. I worked my butt off I put 20 to 25 hours each week I only came out of the class with a b average. The materials were hard to understand and so much homework. I did meet with the instructor a few time but make the appointments way in advance or it wasn't happening.

She is one of the teachers for an online environmental science class. Online classes are a lot of work and this rating is not at all based on the amount of work to be done. I am basing the rating on the clarity of assignments, test questions, and feedback. I wouldn't recommend this instructor.

I received info from the class that >22% of students felt a MAJOR hit on their GPA after taking this course. in other words, look for another elective.

The material was difficult to understand in the textbook, the notes were hardly helpful, passing quizzes and exams are a shot in the dark. The teacher is not helpful, the final project is a joke, she lacks clarity in requirements, guidelines and grading for the class. She comes off as if you're an inconvenience to her. I regret taking her class.

Designed to fail you (elective). With the book & notes open you will find that none correlate . Prof is disconnected/has no ability to convey the skills to the class appropriately. The exam heavily outweigh all other assignments. No explanation for why answer is wrong on exam. Not critical thinking on prof. behalf (get it). Avoid. Very depressing

Maybe this early but w/ the book and note the quizzes and exams are impossible. How do you create an exam or quiz that do not correspond with the class work. The prof is obvious clueless that this is an elective & not meant to stress students but provide w/ helpful knowledge. Lesson learned critical thinks (prof) are not what they appear to be.

So far half way through the class and all of the study materials are pointless. I literally have the notes as well as the textbook next to me to compare answers and it is the direct opposite. What is the point to making Philosophy multiple choice rather than open it up for a debate for quizzes and exams. Its all interpretation. Disconnect w/ Prof

Margaret is a very smart woman and knows immense amounts about feminist theory. CASI is a gen ed, but is very writing intensive. After the first couple essays you'll get used to it and know what she wants. She is very clear in her lectures, you just have to listen. She seems intimidating, but I loved her by the end of the course.

Difficult class for someone who is not a gender-studies, film studies, or philosophy major. There os a lot of reading required, and you have papers every week. It's just a gen-ed, but the expectations for how much you understand the material are much higher.

Dr. Crouch is a great professor. I took her class on Modern Philosophy. The class went over some difficult concepts, but she is incredible at explaining difficult concepts very clearly. If you're interested in philosophy, I highly recommend taking her. She's very helpful and what I learned was really invaluable. Give her a shot!

Very difficult class! An essay due once a week, and it must be turned in twice, once as a rough draft. On top of that is an hour long group project, 50-100 pages of reading a week and two very long essay exams. High expectations for the essays, wants students to reference readings often and use lots of film vocab even though this is a gen ed.

Difficult class, but one of the BEST professors I've ever had. She said that she didn't give out extra credit, but when ask, she gave us a few extra credit assignmnents! Very helpful whenever asked. Super smart lady. You get to use your notes on the exams (you write a lot of them). Definitely would reccommend her!

AWFUL TEACHER!!!! Offers no extra credit, when you ask her for help, she replies with almost useless responses or she says she cant help at all. online tests are timed which i thought was very stupid considering we had over 150 questions on some tests!

A total sweetheart & very witty. I was iffy on this subject going in, but she does a wonderful job of making everything clear for those of us whose interests are in other areas of philosophy (or outside of it period). Lots of reading, lots of writing, but she seems to grade pretty leniently and is incredibly understanding. Among the best out there.

Very kind lady, BUT if you are not a girl or gay, you will not get graded fairly. I did a mid-term and final essay for 3 full days each in the library, had very smart people edit it, felt it was great, got them back with horrible grades. Two gay guys that I sat next to in class both got A's. I read their paper; mine and theirs' were the exact same
