Probably the most condescending teacher I have ever had. Nice lady, don't get me wrong and she truly loves what she is teaching and want's her student to continue to learn. However, ask a question that she doesn't wanna answer and you'll be sitting awkwardly in your seat as she reprimands you about the syllabus.

This professor is the sweetest lady ever. She is really passionate about music and just wants to share the basics with her student for this particular class. The test should be taken seriously because they are not too easy. There is also a paper that is a big percentage of your grade, but overall it's a pretty easy class.

Her test are very challenging even after studying for multiple hours. She is very knowledgable; however, forgets it is a beginners course and makes you feel dumb for sacking questions. My test average was a C; however, I got a B in the class. Although my grade was higher than I thought it was gunna be I would not suffer through that class again.

This teacher was awful. It was the hardest final I've ever taken, having to memorize charts and be able to distinguish between 16 different composers and describe the songs she plays. The instructions for both the final and the big paper worth 1/4 of our grade were explained poorly and graded way too strictly. DO NOT TAKE! Pointlessly hard, not fun

I love going to her class because she is so incredibly knowledgeable! She has a passion for teaching, so she usually isn't very warm to students just trying to get a GE arts credit. Upper division classes with her are much more engaging.

She's awesome: funny, passionate, interesting. Must identify music by ear. Takes attendance. Report is difficult if you can't distinguish elements in Baroque music. Lecture always a blast. Requires you to attend free concerts on campus, participate in class. Really intriguing class. If you like music & want to learn, take this class. Loved it :)

Dr. Pfau Is a great teacher and really knows her stuff. But if you are taking this as a GE and are thinking its more going to be like a history class like the corse description says, you are very wrong. You will need to identify classical pieces by hearing them. And you have to go to 3 SUPER boring concerts that are usually on Friday nights.

Boring. Only take her if you are a music major. You'll have fun because she really likes what she teaches and is very animated. The tests will also make sense. But if you aren't a music major,her tests seem excessive n pointless,and most of the info learned in class is useless.She takes attendance n makes you bring book though hardly ever use it

Pfau is amazing. music 130 is honestly my favorite class this semester and I have no musical background. She keeps things interesting, there's never a dull moment, she's very animated and extrememly passionate about her work. Tests are innovative and fun, easy grader. She does take attendence, just listen and you'll do great

Pfau does a good job of creating awkward situations and making people feel like idiots. She is rigid and strict, a hard grader, unhelpful and downright mean. She also tries to hawk her CDs in class, won't work with students in difficult situations and doesn't seem to care about her students. Not recommended.

i love her! shes super passionate about what she is teaching and expresses her excitement in her class. she really wants you to learn and enjoy her class and is open to different testing ideas if you are having trouble with the way she is testing. it helps alot if you can read music or a musical ear it will help you to identify pieces.

She's okay. She doesn't know how to write tests and are often ambiguous. Her listening tests are almost impossible, but I think she graded the final on a curve because I doubt that anyone got an A on the listening final. Other than that, no other work assigned.

Listening test are incredibly hard. You could stay up all night and study if you needed too and still not do well. Very difficult course... do not recommend for non-music majors. Even those in the class who were music majors did not do well.

the woman means well... very interested and knowledgeable in what she's teaching and expects you to be the same. the listening tests are IMPOSSIBLE! unless of course you listen to 20 classical songs every night. the only guy that passed the final was 50.
