The class is all lectures, but they were interesting and I was excited to go to class. The tests weren't hard but I still don't understand the grading system (I always 100%ed the multiple choice, but it felt like she always found something wrong with my written section no matter how fleshed out I made it). Low homework load was really nice though.

This class was no breeze. The whole class is only 200 points, with 3 tests being 45 points each. No homework, and only one paper. She's a tough grader and every point matters if you want a good grade. The entire class is a lecture, but it's an incredible topic and very interesting. She doesn't use canvas, so there's no PP lecture if you skip.

I've never had a more organized teacher who grades so quickly. She definitely knows her stuff, will sometimes notify students about campus events, and is funny! Class is out of very few points so work hard. 2 tests + 2 essays. 10 EC pts. When she retires, the teaching community will have lost a real gem. I took this along with her ANTH&100 course.

Great professor. There's not a lot of work to really do but every point matters so don't slack. Skim the chapters and focus on what Jacobs' put in the study guide. Class was out of 135 or so points, I think. You get 10 extra credit points, which really helps. I took this along w/ her Religion & Culture course

Her lectures are very interesting and eye opening - it makes me learn about the world in a different perspective (my class is a Religion and Culture class and it's interesting to see religion through an anthropological standpoint through her interesting lectures). She gives you really good feedback on your essay assignments as well.

When signing up for this class, I knew that it was going to be hard and I would need to work for my grade. Overall, there wasn't that much homework that she would give us to do, but the work is very hard and she grades pretty tough on it. Also, the study guides that she would provide us doesn't help with the tests that you take.

She grades on content, not spelling, grammar, etc. if you turn in the journal entries complete she automatically gives you a 10/10 on it. Her lectures are amazing.

Jacobs is very kind and willing to answer any question. She's professional but isn't uptight at all. You have to show up to class if you want to do good on tests since all of the material is covered in her lectures, which she does every single day. Take lots of notes and use the study guide and you should do great on exams!

her lectures are very clear and on point she is funny at times which is good for the students and has lot of amazing stories to tell that relate to the topic of study. she is very light in terms of assignments but you got to perform well in the tests and the journals to get a good grade in her class.

Very smart Professor. She knows what she's talking about. Gives really interesting lectures. Prepare to take lots of notes and consider getting a recorder so you can record her lectures as well. She sometimes makes little jokes, but mostly she's very serious and on topic. She expects her students to take good notes so that you can do good on her exercises and tests. Tests are very straight forward, no hidden surprises on test day. Very nice and cares about her students. Speaks clear and strong. Though she isn't the loudest speaker so if you are hard of hearing you might want to sit towards the front.

I love this prof!! She's a wonderful teacher and person, she really gives her all to her students. I am pursuing Anthropology and really enjoyed this class. Class graded out of 200 pts so every point missed MATTERS. One small issue: prepare to struggle to meet everything she asks for on test essays. She is very unclear about it and it will be hard

She is awesome! It's a fairly easy class. She offers up to 10 points in EC( but you need to have less than 5 absences). All the test question are from the study guide, And there's only 4 tests through the quarter. Tests are MC :)

She is an absolutely lovely teacher, and went out of her way to save me from getting a 3.0, and by the end of the quarter I had a 3.7. She is a great lecturer, and she made me enjoy a topic that I wasn't too interested in. Seriously, if you're taking anthro, take her!!!

Professor Jacobs was a really nice & helpful teacher. The class is lecture style so be prepared to take notes every day. Attendance is also required to be able to do extra credit. There are three tests, three easy papers & a primate observation. She is a tough grader but as long as you follow her guidelines to assignments, you'll do fine.

Professor Jacobs is very sweet, smart, and funny! She made the class lectures as interesting as they can be. I had to be away from school for two weeks, and she worked with me so I could still do well in class. I would recommend all to take her class!

Dr. Jacobs is an amazing instructor. All tests are based off of lectures (which are fun and informative) and as long as you take notes the tests are easy. However, her expectations for a 4.0 are high, but getting an A is no problem.
