Paco was one of my most memorable professors in Santa Cruz. He is funny, friendly, and a very fair grader. I had not taken Spanish in 4 years and was pretty rusty, but he speaks and teaches at a perfect level for a non-Spanish speaker. He is very easy going and approachable outside of class.

He was a jerk to me on multiple occasions, but everyone else really seemed to like him and he seemed like a nice guy anyways. I would probably take another class taught by him because i know i had a unique experience in disliking him. Also his class was super easy.

Paco picked very interesting and appropriate readings, but his teaching style is rather dry. There are a total of three short essays assigned, and that's basically the entire grade. He'll allow revisions, though. Easy class. Nice guy-just boring.

I really like Paco. He is very entertaining and loves the subject. It is the only class I was actually excited to go to this quarter. I have learned a lot and he is very helpful. Also, very understanding. I give him an A for a teacher.

Paco is a real sweetheart! Sounds funny but its true. He's available to help, encourages any questions/ interesting discussions, and the movies you watch are wonderful. Plus he's a pretty cool guy. Also, the class doesn't focus much on any grammar so you may want to meet up with him to talk about/ask for help with common errors you are having.

Dedicated Teacher. He is a fair grader and I really enjoyed this class. He has a passion for the material which really shows through in his teaching. I did not find the class particularly hard, however, some have found him to be a tough grader.

Very clear and animated. If you dont understand, or need any help, ASK! He will stop what he is doing and help you. Really keeps the class engaged. I have had 3 years of Spanish prior to this, so it wasnt a difficult course, but he made it extremely interesting-even teaches things not in the text.:)

Paco was the best Spanish teacher I ever had. He is an adorable old man, extremely animated. He's very encouraging and helpful, and listens when you have a problem, as long as you try to explain it in Spanish :) I totally recommend him!!!

I've taken four Spanish classes at UCSC. Paco was by far the best of the four. His style is difficult --- certainly I did more work in his class than any other Spanish class. He doesn't allow English in his classroom. But I learned quite a bit.
