She gives good feedback on written assignements and grades fair. The entire class is reading the textbook and doing assignments. Im not a fan of busy work so that was ok. I do wish there was more video lectures because I learn best with auditory and visual.

Professor Balaban is not bad at all. If you're looking for someone who challenges you both in reading and writing, she's your girl. As long as you understand what you read and are able to write to her expectation, you'll do good.

She knows what she is talking about, If you don't show up to class you will not do very good on the tests because there are a lot of things on the test that she only talks about in class. She is a very hard grader, and has exams every other week.

She really knows her stuff, and if you are on time, attend every class, take your work seriously, and don't ask stupid questions you'll do okay. She can be very grumpy, so you have to read her mood. If you don't attend class she won't be lenient, even if it's for something very serious. She gives very good feedback on assignments.

Professor Balaban is not understanding at all. I had to miss class twice, once to go home because my father attempted suicide and the other was food poisoning. Pretty legit reasons if you ask me. She refused to work with me and I had to withdraw from the class from all the stress she was causing me.

I had Marie for several classes. Take your schooling seriously. Be on time, attend every class, pay attention and she will respect you. She will be nasty if you aren't serious about your work. Go to her for help but yes, there are stupid questions. Sometimes you have to read her mood but hey, it is psychology right? You want her for your capstone!

I've noticed that everyone who has rated with PSY311 has had a negative experience. No change for me. She was very difficult to work with at when there was confusion at times she was down right rude. highly don't recommend her or the class.

I did my psychology capstone with her. She is extremely hard and grades really rough. But if you actually go up and ask her for feedback, she's really great about letting you know what you need to improve. If you work with her, she'll work with you. Simple. TRUST ME: there are worse psy profs you could have at EOU....

She's not a very nice person. She was nice to me because she liked me, but I witnessed her basically yell at other students for no real reason. She's difficult, but it's possible to get an A in the class. Be prepared to work hard and show up to EVERY class. You have to give her prior warning if you will miss a class and your excuse better be death.

Marie, is a hard grader...I took Cognition DDE but I have never learned so much in a class as I did in hers. I really earned that "c" and I must say I was even a little proud that I survived. I think students need to relize that we are in college and are supposed to be tested to our limits. This is life, we don't always get to take the easy path.

MEMORIZE THE BOLD STUFF IN THE TEXT BOOK! If you can avoid her, avoid her. She grades hard which is unfair because she doesn't actually teach the subject. She just doesn't seem to actually enjoy teaching, and it really takes a toll on the class. If this subject interests you, STAY AWAY! She's just not a nice person. Or at least a very unhappy one.
