As long as you get all your projects done before the end of the semester you'll be good. He loves when you make updates and encourages students to resubmit work whenever you make changes. His classes are all lecture with a side of work time nearing the open due dates. Warning: use lecture time to do your work. lecture is about software useage.

Comment:

He is really nice guy. Does make you work hard but it is worth it as you will learn more about computer graphics and CS than you'd ever expect. He does lecture a lot but in the long run it is very helpful when you sit down to do your own work. I'm more than happy with all the work I did and I will definitely take this teacher again in the future!

Mark's good guy and his DM1 class is not hard. There were some projects I was struggling to get done, not because they were difficult, but because the class was somewhat unorganized. His photoshop lectures drag on, and it only gets a little better by the end of the semester. The quality of your work is all on you, but he is lenient with deadlines.

I really liked this class personally. I never used photoshop before, and I learned a lot. Just wish I had known my grade throughout the semester instead of just my final grade at the end.

Mark is a very nice guy. but he likes to take over the desktops during lecture and doesnt unfreeze them for about 2 hours. he drags on a lot and expects you to remember everything he taught you. the class is very un organized and I was very confused as to when assignments were due because he doesnt bring it up in class.

Overall a very easy class, and he is a very nice guy. However I didn't receive a single grade back the whole term, so I had no idea how I was doing. It was also pretty boring, so I wasn't very motivated to go to class.

Most of the class was a lecture about photoshop which i usually fell asleep to but he didn't mind at all. He is a really chill guy always willing to help you with your projects and re-explain how to do something with photoshop. There were deadlines for projects but you can always turn them in later or re-do them

Such a warm, kind guy! So nice, very easy to contact through email with any questions. Fun projects, you learn a lot about photoshop even if you've never used it. He's very helpful, class can get a little tedious because it ends late, but it's a good class.

Mark comes close to being one of my favorite professors at UMass, there are really only two that I can really say I connected with better. He is a great guy who encourages you to explore your creative side. He does however tend to lecture a lot which I have seen some people fall asleep to. A cup of coffee or coke before class can solve that problem

good class, very worth the time, maybe the most useful class I have taken so far. Millstien teaches a lot of professional techniques other profs dont know about. Take it if you can. prof is funny and easy going but seems to care a lot.

Very helpful teacher. Kind of drones on, class can be a bit boring in that it's three hours. Gives recent examples of commercials and movies to show processing. Wish this class was twice a week instead of one! Didn't really need the book so much as he posts a lot of pdfs on the class website. The book is only like $15 though, so your choice.
