Loved his class! I'm an HR major, and can say this class is where I learned the most and I have taken it with me throughout my last semester. Enjoyable lectures and very straight forward! Two tests and participation grade! By far my favorite professor at UHCL!

Comment:

Took Sherman for HR and he was great. He made a comment in class about how he dislikes online classes and prefers face to face, so thats why his online class ratings are so low. I'm taking him for another f2f because I enjoyed his class! Tests are based on lecture, so although attendance isn't mandatory it benefits you to go.

Good professor and would enjoy having a beer or two with him sometime. Tests are over his lectures and the book didn't matter much. Heard his online courses are much more difficult and you'll want to take him in person anyways as he keeps class interesting.

I have had the opportunity of taking a class with Dr. Sherman face to face and online. While i will not recommend his online classes, i think he did an overall good job through out the semester. He is a very knowledgeable instructor, go to his face to face classes and get your money's worth.

Best advice is to show up and listen - he won't give the grade away, but if you pay attention you will do well. He explains everything, is passionate about the subject, and lectures from experience - not just readingmemorization. Learned more from this class than most from a 'learn it & use it' perspective.

took this as an elective.. never again will I take a class with him. not the best grader & isn't helpful. there's weekly assignments & even if u get an ok grade feedback is crap. even after u actually took the time on it, his comments say the opposite. there's an essay that's worth 40% & it's very stressful. no testquizzes, don't let that fool you

Took class online. Weekly essays questions aren't bad, but his feedback is rude and uncalled for. There is a term paper and he seems to grade based on your ability to write, not the course content. He is not helpful and doesn't seem to care if you learn or not. I would never take him again and I would not recommend any of his classes.

I took online. He sticks to the syllabus. Expect an essay a week with commentary that is rude. He isn't clear on what he wants. I have heard good things about him, but I would not take him again or recommend online courses.

Gained practical knowledge that I have already used in my daily life. Would definitely recommend Dr. Sherman to anyone interested in the dynamics of negotiation. His knowledge and experience makes the subject easy to understand and apply to real life situations. Read the book, watch the videos and pay attention and you'll do well in this course.

Overall this class and professor were great. If you miss class you won't do well on the exams. Dr. Sherman is very good at turning HR concepts into real world applications. Read the chapters, study your lecture notes, and ask questions and you will do fine.

Really good prof, show up to class, read your notestextbook and you will be fine. Learned quite a bit in this class, he knows is stuff!!! Recommend taking this class in person, not online and with Dr. Sherman.

Knowledgeable! You learn not only how to negotiate, but how to read your opponent. This class and how he teaches it is essential for all students to be able to negotiate life's events. As an arbitrator and mediator, he is able to teach from current events and prepare students for life's negotiations. Two small books to read, and his lectures.

Professor keep changing the class schedule and syllabus. The content is not clear at all and students are confused.I never understood what he expected until students ask him. Professor never posted any assignments grade on Blackboard during semester, and the worse thing is the final grade come out with low grade with unclear reason.

I took Sherman F2F and online. I would recommend he stick to F2F courses. I enjoyed his F2F class; this one, not so much. I was disappointed in his lack of response w/in a timely manner, especially for returning grades. He had high expectations from students but I didn't feel he kept those expectations for himself for this course. SMH...

Online Course. Weekly Assignments NOT HARD. No Tests. Term paper was a little confusing. Some weekly assignments I did not understand and he would still give me partcial credit, although on one he was really rude and did not give me examples on what the proper answer should have been. Overall descent Professor.
