Her class was honestly so fun! We learned a lot about the history of marriage, Freud and watched a couple movies. She's a bit strict when she grades her work, but I never received anything less than a 90. Take her if you get the chance!!! DEF RECOMMEND

Comment:

She's an older woman and expects a lot out of her students. She is very open-minded and liberal and the HON128 class has good content and is interesting however there is a lot of reading that is expected. You also watch movies out of class and have to worksheets about them which kind of takes away the fun.

Comment:

Genuinely the kindest and most adorable professor you'll ever have. We watched a movie almost every week, had lots of relevant simple assignments, the exams and projects were easy, and Cassidy is always willing to talk and help/accommodate anyone that needs it. If you have any issue you wanna discuss, she will listen to you and help if she can.

I've been a repeat student of Marsha's for all four years of my degree. She's the most understanding and down-to-earth professor I've had in terms of attendance and outside-of-class responsibilities as long as you keep her in the loop. There are a lot of assignments but they all tie in to the course material. Nothing feels like gratuitous busywork.

Professor Cassidy is an awesome professor, but very harsh grader which is why some of us got B's. Great material and assignments weren't too hard. We also got to watch movies and eat in class! Can't beat that.

Good teacher, really wants you to succeed. There's a fair amount of assignments, but they're pretty easy and not time consuming. Makes the material very interesting, and gives good lectures.

I honestly loved her as a professor. She was very helpful and will help you if your grade is borderline. I would definitely take her class again. The only thing is that she assigned a lot of reading and her tests have specific quotes from books, so you really need to read and pay attention.

Although she might seem intimidating at first, she's an amazing person and an even better teacher. Try to get on her good side from the beginning of the semester. She likes people who are opinionated so participate as much as you can. DO THOSE 10 POINT ASSIGNMENTS! She's a tough grader but your grade truly represents the amount of effort you put in

She is one of the best professors at UIC, hands down. She honestly cares about the students and it really shows. Her lectures were really interesting and there was a lot of class participation, but it didn't feel forced. Professor Cassidy is just a really interesting person.

Professor Cassidy is an amazing professor. Her class was awesome and she was so nice whenever anybody asked questions. She was always open to talk to and she was very helpful. She has a lot of little assignments but they're really easy. I love her!! I wanted to take another class with her but it was full! Definitely take her!

Great professor, really cares about her students, and is very helpful when you ask her questions. She is a tough grader however, and will not give you an A unless you truly have worked for it and earned it. The most difficult part of her class is that if you don't answer questions how she would, you don't get the points. Despite that, she's great.

She is the nicest professor I have had at UIC. Her class is super easy and she has all the readings online so there is no need to buy any textbooks. Her exams are easy if you are ready to listen to her when she gives her lectures ONCE A WEEK. I have no idea how anybody could struggle when she is so willing and happy to help all her students.

She was a very nice teacher. Movie screening every Tuesday and discussion about the movie/genre every Thursday. It was a very chill class and she was very passionate about teaching the subject. Pay attention and go to class, review the study guide before tests and you will get an A for sure. However, she only allows 2 unexcused absences.

Her class is very interesting, but expect a lot of work. Best part about the course was the movies. this was one of my favorite classes and I definitely learned a lot. she is very specific in what she wants for the papers, so def go to her office hours. Overall, she is a very good prof..I would recommend her
