I enjoyed taking Judicial Process with Dr. Zalman. He is a blunt professor that will tell you in front of the class you need to work harder. He will also congratulate you for effort and research. I was a bit bummed out that I emailed to meet with him the following semester to discuss the Judge Kavanaugh debacle and he brushed me off.

Professor Zalmans lectures are not informative and do no good in preparing you for the exams. Lectures consist of him telling stories or updating you on global events, nothing to do with the book or material.

Great guy, and very knowledgable and respected in his field. He has amazing guest lecturers come to the class and speak. However, his powerpoint presentations (which is what you are tested on) are below par in conveying a clear understanding of what needs to be learned. Should not have a problem receiving your desired grade if you do everything.

Pro Zalman is incredibly intelligent and understanding of the CRJ system. You will learn a great deal about all aspects of the system & beyond the class subject. His assignments will open your eyes and help you decide if you really want to work in the field. Although he does give a lot of small assignments they're easy and doable. Highly reccomend!

Professor Zalman is extremely intelligent and is an expert in wrongful convictions. The class was fascinating and I learned a lot from him. There are of readings and assignments and he expects you to participate on a regular basis, but I would take another class with him. He is very helpful and is always prompt in returning calls/emails.

Zalman is a really smart guy who works in the field. He is an expert at wrongful convictions and has even worked to create Michigan's sentencing guidelines. Very blunt professor. Brings in great guest speakers.

You have to come into a Zalman class with the right mindset. If you're trying to breeze through without doing the work, you're going to fail. His lectures usually make no sense but are extremely entertaining. "So it was 1968 and we were riding our motorbikes down the highway in Nigeria." Take his class if you're not afraid of hard work.

Hardest class I've ever taken at Wayne State with the hardest professor. Stay away unless you really want to work the A.

This class (Contemporary Criminal Justice) was by far the most DEMANDING class I've ever taken. It's not hard, it is demanding. Over the course of semester, you read seven books and write 8 reviews, two essay tests and one multiple choice test over the books. Lectures are unnecessary to me but easy way to earn credit.

He is a strict teacher, but with self discipline, you can defiantly achieve a good grade. If you're planning to pursue law school, I highly suggest Dr Zalman. He knows the material well and if you attend class his quizzes, test and exams are based on his lectures. I highly recommend!

By far the hardest CJ class I've taken, but not impossible. You just have to really commit yourself to it. Take with a low class load. Most people drop. My class only had 9 people in the end. Best advice: read the book! Don't wait till the last minute to prep for tests. Lectures are very boring but manditory attendance. Good luck, you'll need it.

If you are lazy-do not take this class. This is the hardest class I have ever taken for undergrad and I studied 20+ hours per exam(5). Have to actually read book and take detailed notes along w/ study questions everyday. Finished with a B+ which was I believe best grade in class. need to DEDICATE urself to this class ALL semester.

This class is not that bad. Yes there are alot of readings and you will have a quiz and exam on the same day but overall it's not extremely hard. Also, attendance is mandatory but you don't have to pay him any attention because his lectures are straight from the book. The exams are essay questions and the quizzes are curved. Good Luck!

You can take constitutional procedure with Zalman or Falvo, and everyone says Falvo is easier. I took Zalman, and it was super-hard, but I think he's a great teacher, is VERY approachable if you need extra help, and really knows his stuff! The exams are brutal, but all the quizzes are curved. If you are planning to go to law school, taking this

Hard class - but it's a hard subject. Curves quizzes, gives you all of the long essay questions that may appear on the exam - he'll then put two of the possible essay questions on the exam, and you choose 1 to answer. Attendance is mandatory, you can only miss 1 class before it will affect your grade. Good class...just come prepared to work!

Zalman is a very good teacher, that expects hard work out of his students. If you are looking for an easy A, take somebody else. If you are looking to learn a lot, be challenged, and earn a grade, take Zalman. He is hard, but he is also very willing to help if you need it and are willing to spend some time in his office during his office hours.

he's obviously extremely intelligent (and he knows it), however, his demeanor seems unapproachable most days and he's not the most respectful in responses to your wrong answers...my suggestion is.. take Falvo's class
